Cedar Fair recently trademarked a new ride name: Fury. Filed near the end of January, it would appear as though it is not for any large 2014 attraction. The company previously trademarked the name Centurion last Fall - another name that has not yet been used for an attraction.
The trademark for Fury is for the 'normal' set of categories seen in previous filings, including an amusement ride and tons of related types of merchandise.
I knew the word rang a bell when I saw it, and that's because Fury is the name of a Haunted House at Carowinds' Halloween Haunt. That attraction deals with "Fury Industries, a top secret weapons facility and source of many a conspiracy theory, is using questionable chemistry to build the ultimate soldier."
So, that leaves us to ponder if the company perhaps plans to expand the use of that name at Halloween Haunts across the nation, or perhaps save it for an as yet unannounced large new ride? Only time will tell, but it sure is fun to speculate!
