Im not sure how long its been out to the public, but it is out now anyway

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/produc ... fault.mspx

I must say that it works quite faster then 7, and hey, it gets about 11 points more on the acid 3 test.
Finaly it passed the Acid 2 test

It also grays out most of your adress bar, leaving only the "sitename.com" bit in black wich i find quite weird.. maybe its easier i guess for people who want to quickly know what site they are on...

It also has an Emulate IE7 button wich is quite usefull...
even tho it seems to score better on the acid 3 test, it IE8 dosnt render my webpage ( www.semeleinternational.com ) however Emulated IE7 does....

Personaly i will continue to use FireFox 3 beta 5

( It is not avalible for macs...not that mac users (or any other sane person) would EVER want to touch this over FireFox and Safari

Safari's Webkit has already passed the Acid 3 test, and Safari itself has already reached 73. Safari, aside from nightly WebKit builds, is the worlds fastest browser.

Firefox is also much faster then IE, although not as fast as Safari and Webkit. Firefox 3 is getting closer to Safari then it used to be, though.

See I used all 3 and I didnt notice any significant increase in speed. Nothing to make me switch and ditch IE. Some pages were faster, some were slower. Tests are great and all but its not the ultimate measure.

I hate most softwares now, especially anything Mircosoft is currently coming out with, because it's all about whether or not it looks nice rather than whether or not the thing actually functions how it's meant to!

Seriously, I believe it is all a matter of personal preference and it should be left at that. No sense in arguing about it, nor being derogatory towards one software suite over another. Just my thoughts.

* Perhaps this will curb the "mine is better than your crap" that is bound to kick off in seconds thanks to the door being kicked open. *

Thanks for sharing the link Casper, I had not been reading the trades much over the past few weeks.
Sometimes the best thing to say is nothing at all.
