^This is an Intamin, Diamondback is a B&M. B&M likes airtime hills on their megas, and they don't make giga's.

True...but I don't quite get why alot of the track is closer to the ground...when I said something like DB I meant something with alot of hills...kinda like a larger version of Goliath (The Green One).

Given the environment and the space given, no. I think that Intamin did a wonderful job with this ride. The 2 support lift hill was a great idea to cut back on costs, and the layout (to me) is amazing. I love how its REALLY similar to a mega lite. I just call it the oversized mega lite. I personally think that they could have done something MUCH better than the stupid Chevy car design, and the OTSR's, but apparently there really unnoticeable. Lap bars are still shmexier though. I say good job to Intamin, I don't see why everybody is harping so bad on this ride when it really does make me smile. The only reason I would see somebody hating this ride is if they hated Maverick.
So, my friend came up to me the other day and asked if I wanted a frozen banana, and I said no, but I want a normal banana later, so... yea.

the only things i really see wrong are the otsr (which there are rumors that they won't really be there) and it looks like it jerks you a lot on a couple of the transitions, but you can't really tell that until you've ridden it.

While in conrast to NASCAR this thing actually has right hand turns, i still consider it to be just as boring and a waste of height and money.

Well, at least it'll give people something to do if they're bored.

The whole NASCAR theme............well...to tell you the truth I didn't see a connection at all, because I know poop-diddly about NASCAR, and I'm pretty sure the majority of the people the go there won't even know either. They could have put some scenery in there. It's a just a track on a surrounded field. But I'll bite my tongue for now, at least until I see the station.

I can understand why they would want to put OTSR's on the rides that have these quick transitions. If you only had a lap bar, the lateral g's in those tight maneuvers could throw you to one side and hurt your back or neck.

I have experienced something like this on a few rides. I was trying to ride The Voyage with my hands raised, but with the high lateral g's in some of the turns near the end my shoulder was practically touching the lapbar of the empty seat next to me. TTD's upward twist was like that, too. It was more forceful than I expected, and I felt like the upper half of my body was dangling off the side of the train.

Does anybody read anything, that clearly states no over-the-shoulder harness...Now I understand the video and renderings show maverick style harnesses but those are listed as over-the-shoulder. So is the press release, and website incorrect with the statement no over-the-shoulder harnesses or are the videos and train renderings feature the wrong harnesses?

This is from CP's website...
"Vehicle Design Fiberglass and steel coaches with over-the-shoulder restraints and interlocking seat belts"


Guys read the press release, it clearly states NO-OVER-THE-SHOULDER HARNESS!

Yeah, they may be referring to Intamins OTSR design as "overhead lap bars" like a politician would use a euphemism to make something sound better than it is. That's my best bet...don't get your hopes up guy.

I think regardless of restraints it will still be fun, but I'm sure some of us would prefer lapbars, but with the problems some other Intamin rides had with people falling out (even though they should not have been riding anyway), it has become more of a standard on newer Intamin rides.

I wonder how strong the forces will be on that first turn? I know on Kawasemi (mega-lite) you feel like your about to passout on that turn, and this ride is basically 3x bigger. I hope it has the same intensity throughout the turns that its smaller cousin has.

^You like blacking out on rides? The pullout of MF's drop is intense enough for me. I hope it starts off forceful at the bottom of the drop and eases off a bit for that big turn.

This ride will undoubtedly have more airtime than MF, though. At the time MF was built, a giga coaster was unknown territory for Intamin, so they probably wanted to play it safe and have gentle floater air over the hills. The airtime on this ride will probably be almost as strong as on their wooden coasters.

The drop on MF is only 89' longer than that of SROS SFNE which was built in the same year, and SROS has extreme airtime on most hills. Considering SROS is not all that different from MF, I very highly doubt the height itself had anything to do with the airtime they designed into the ride. I think CP wanted a huge marketable coaster that wouldn't be too intense for families to ride too.

LAWL. Well, i've never ridden an inta with OTSR's, and from what I heard, they just feel like a lapbar. Don't judge meh.

^^The only ride I've ridden that sports Intamin OTSRs was Airbender, and even that ride would be many times more amazing if you simply had that lap-bar. I know the ride spins outward, but it's not like you're pinned forward against the OTSRs. I think it could do without them...

I can only presume that it's more seriously restricting on roller coasters because the OTS part of the restraint is much thicker on them.
