I'm salty because I didn't think there was any way this would happen, because of cost. I wonder what the dollar figure on this kind of work was.

Sandors said they were widening the turn and raising it a bit...and that's what happened.

AMAZING right?

It's official. I305 is fully functional and looks like it runs just as quickly as the day it opened.

Even though that video was uploaded March 4, it clearly states that this was footage taken from when it opened.

It doesn't look any different to me...is there a comparison shot somewhere? I looked at the old offrides, and the new one, and it looks exactly the same.

Already knew, but it apparently wasn't the first thing that came to mind when I responded in the thread [lol]

With the new track layout nearly complete & the trim brakes removed from the first drop, we thought it would be good to go back & take a look at what this monster coaster looked like when it first opened before they had to make the modifications. This video really captures all the unique ground-hugging elements & should also be great to compare with a similar one we will be filming when we go back to the park this spring.

Still looks good...Speed will be slower at the end of the first turnaround, but it will still be going very fast there. There will also be a bit less airtime for the front of the train entering the second hill. However, with that reduction in speed comes faster element pacing since the end of the turn is now so close to the start of the airtime on the hill, and also the back will enjoy a drop that probably will seem larger now than it did before.

Although I expected it, it's too bad the brakes had to return to the second straight hill...not sure if the air on the hill would be too strong, but I think the optimal position if brakes are a must would be on the second half of that hill, near the inflection point or toward the bottom. That way the airtime wouldn't come with the disappointment of deceleration as it does now.

Oh well, either way still looks like it may be the best ride in the world. I'm definitely trying to get there this year...so glad it's not *too* far away. I love living smack in the middle of Bizarro SFNE, Boulder Dash, El Toro, Kingda Ka, and Intimidator 305 lol...among others. Can't beat it.

Whaaaattttt I totally missed out on all of this hahaha. That's crazy. It looks tacky lol. Obvious that it wasn't designed that way. Ehhh, maybe not. Most people wouldn't be able to see that part very well other than from on-ride.

In some way it does look cool and it probably rides a lot better. Not like I'll be getting to KD anytime soon though haha.

I don't like the look very much. But hey, if it gets rid of the trims on the drop I'm all for it! [^]

I know it's almost like it was before and the rest of the ride before it is faster than when brakes were on the first drop.

Im going to see if I cant use some tracking in after effects to layer a before and after and see if we cant notice any realtime speed differences...
