What are they doing then?
lol, I've never seen a coaster with real trains on the track before it was totally finished... This one only has the tophat up, nothing else...
Hmm...

Also:
Or maybe it isn't for the way up, just an early start for slowing down a backwards rollback?

Yeah, that's what I ment...

maybe it's the trains they are testing, not the coaster?

Or they are testing the systems that actually fire the trims that we've been talking about?

So, my friend came up to me the other day and asked if I wanted a frozen banana, and I said no, but I want a normal banana later, so... yea.

Looks like they're almost done!
The only parts that are missing are the corkscrew and the finale!

I can't believe that they are building such a great coaster just 3 hours drive from my home! This year I'll surely get a season pass (also because the season pass, that costs only 68?????????, it's valid in 6 other european parks (wb madrid, parque de atracciones, bobbejajanland (ok, i just figure that i can't write it ;) and 3 others, but i don't remember which they are ))...

They're on top of there game over there. Actually to tell you the truth there doing that to almost every coaster being built currently. Manta, Terminator, This, Rip-Ride-Rock'iT(even though it's probably going the slowest because of the buildings, but still pretty fast). It's all this damn coffee they been drinking...DAMN COFFEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sometimes you gotta sacrifice a little bit of yourself to get the job done.

People from Mirabilandia said that they were placed there in case they would need them, becouse this way it's cheaper than if they had to redo the track pieces to accomodate trims...
Also, they say it's highly unlikely they will ever be used.

You can actually get the idea of the magnitude of the airtime going over that hill, from that information...
What's the limit again? -1.4G? Well, anyway. I think the forces will be quite up there, judging by the comparisson between the heighth of the tophat and the heighth of the hill.
And, the brakes kinda confirm this theory, becouse, if the trains would go to fast, the airtime would get painfull...
I might also be wrong, but judging by the heighth of the overbank, I'm not...

Wow, that is a lot taller of a tophat than i thought. How tall is it? And as vid w said they probably won't use those trims unless the ride is not enjoyable for the riders. So if they use them, it will be because they are wanted.

The trims do not appear to be used for the camelback, as the front of the train will likely reach maximum negatives before the apex of the hill. Intamin also knows its limits...my guess is the trims are there so the rest of the layout can fit in a smaller area, or have less track, while still having as high a top speed as possible.

The camelback looks to be all triangular track, and I don't think Intamin has ever done retracting brakes without using quad track. Therefore, if they're not retracting like I expect, they'll either be there and be used, or have to be physically removed like they were on the hill after the helix on Kanonen. Since I'm sure they're magnetic fins like those of most if not all new full size Intamins, they can't just be turned off.

I wonder why the supports are boxy and not the typical round.

Yes Vid I think we're all pretty comfortable with the fact that this is probably going to get a lot of airtime considering it's an Intamin with many hills [;)]
