Alton Towers are offering the chance for one lucky person to be on the design board for there 2013 coaster. Entrants must be over the age of 18 on 12 July 2011 and resident in the United Kingdom. Entry to the competition via HERE begins at 10pm Tuesday 12 July and concludes Wednesday 31 August 2011.

There is also a vote going on the find there all time great attraction at Alton Towers which can be found HERE. Get your votes logged for your favourite ride.

Read the t&c. I did and this isn't a job. It's just a seat for the preliminary stages of the themeing. Not all that exciting but merlin are hypeing it up as usual

What were you expecting, Gaz? That they'd actually let someone from the general public just come in and design their coaster?

Regardless, it would be awesome to be involved in the process.

I think this is what happened with the Pontiac Azwreck.

Hopefully nobody stupid wins. Well, Alton would be smart enough to not listen to someone stupid. But still, it wouldn't help any.

to win the spot you have to do more than just vote, you have to tell them in under 100 words why you would be perfect.

i just wrote "pick me" 50 times, i should win then

I have a rough draft of reasons why but it is about 120 words so still needs some thinning down.

I feel confident though with already working with them in the 'Thrill Laboratory' [:)] It would be good if someone off the site ot the position, but we will have to wait and see.

i dought theres any chance at all, it will be an unknown person to any of the coaster comunity and they will reaserch it.

BTW design is pretty cool and exciting but implimentation is way better as you see your ideas come to life, my time of year is coming. only 3 months away. hope you all get to hollyhead farm for 'the revenge'. (totally shameless plug'
