Get ready to face the two-faced (it's not a dueling...) wrath of Janus!

Janus is a 170ft. double-powered (Just going with the name...it's powered by LIM's :P) Intamin Rocket Launcher, loosely inspired by Storm Runner.

With a launch speed of 62.5mph., a Max speed of 64 mph., a max -G-force of -.9 (you want ejector right? It's Inta. BIOTCH![:p]), a max +G-force of 4G's, (on the up-hill), and having a max lat. G of .9 (so far)...this thing is a BEAST.

Oh and I figured I would mention-

It's 100% hand-built.

Now, Janus is the god that inspired the name for January. He was a two-faced god, with one face looking towards the future, and another to the past. SO, This ride will have two differnet sections, the beginning will be the old (StormRunner-ish stuff) with big sweeping turns, and airtime hills...but the second will be full of compact ejector hills, tight turns, and if it works...a couple of inversions, but I am really aiming for air, and speed on this one.

I have been working on it for a week now, the layout is still being worked on, but here are some pics:

Comment, and tell me what you think!

EDIT- after some SERIOUS tinkering on that Top-Hat, and dropout I got the new max +G and lat. G, The entry to the top hat is based off of I-Speed, which greatly reduced the lat. G's (.6 drop!), and I added more nodes, which smoothly transitioned it to the top, boy, is it as smooth as a baby's butt!

It's called a Cobra loop. (Look at Storm Runner)

I think the beginning is a bit too similar to Storm runner but other than that it looks fantastic.
Screw Commercialism. It's Dr.Gumbo, not CokeZero.

Well, just because something is similar does not mean it isn't good.

If it's a good concept, and you're only using it for a little bit in the beginning...what wrong with it?

I agree with Tidus. Could he have added an extra airtime hill between the top hat and immelman? Of course. Would it have made his ride any better or more original? Nobody knows. In my opinion, people judge rides too much based on small sections that are eerily similar to either existing rides or other virtual rides. When you think about it, if you look at any element you can possibly come up with, odds are it has either already been built, been simulated, or people have already thought about it, and they decided it wasn't worth the trouble. NO SINGLE ELEMENT on a roller coaster is 100% original. If you want to make a ride original, change up the order. But, there is also nothing wrong with having some part that's already been built, and in the same order. If it makes the ride better, GO WITH IT!

EDIT: Sorry got carried away...this ride looks like a great rocket! I'd love to test it if you need anyone [:D]

sweeeeet. Let me know when it's ready, I'll be patiently awaiting its arrival...
Got one complaint. That last transition shown in the last picture looks a tiny bit abrupt. I assume it will be fixed? [;)]

Great ride! Ive always wanted to do something like that myself, but i never really got a usable concept. I like the flip in the back of the last image, although the lead-in looks kinda weird, but i guess its something new! If you need one more tester, im always open. My email is on my profile.
