awesome, if had a couple thousand dollars for the new interfaces i would need for running a mac i'd probabally gotten one somehow, but my studio will not run without a pc card that connects to my digi 001..., and wouldn't run on vista either , so i was stuck building it myself.. just under 400 for h.d case, board and cpu and 2 gig of ram.. plus i guess i'm still a little punk rock about the "dyi" thing.. [:D]

nice jayman, that's definitely a huge step up. and these days, I don't see why you wouldn't build your own computer. everything else is a huge rip-off.

-250G hard drive.
-only 1G ram, but that alright i guess.
-a 19 inch, widscreen hp monitor(really nice, tmv told me its a $250 monitor).
not to sure what else.

only bad thing is that we are using an iternet connection from another house. lol :)

Jayman the 'monitor' of mine you saw is the entire computer. Everything's built into it and it's like an inch and a half thick.

Jayman, that's the whole computer FYI. :D

yes i know,
you see there was a facetiousness that underlay my post.
you posted a picture of your computer, simply a "monitor", with a case large enough to house an apple computer, and the keyboard that comes with it. the picture showed nothing else.
i posted my version..my souped up, hot rod pc (not pictured) as the engine of my crazy musical disco party van.
that was the joke, you see.. you have a screen and a keyboard and a mouse..i have the computer for more than it's looks..

i dont know how well mac's operate, so i cant say anything bad, but from what i can tell, they have very nice monitors and clean keybords. i dont care for there mouses. dont they not have a right click and scroller? or just right click? but like jayman has said like three times, its not the looks, its the performance.

although, i do have to say, i fell in love with my monitor when i opened it christmas. im suprised a stock computer came with such a nice monitor. oh yeah, its a compaq computer with vista and an intel processor. no to bad stock i guess.

You see I have Garageband for music editing and vocal editing, iMovie for video editing, iDVD for creating studio-like DVDs, Safari for web browsing, iTunes for organizing and buying music, iPhoto for organizing my photos and editing them, as well as iWeb for creating awesome websites that upload to .Mac with the click of a button [not to mention you can use your own domain name.] I also have iWork 08 that does everything I need an office program to do and shudloads of other stuff. I don't have a bunch of cords for periferals because I have a built in webcam and microphone, and a blutooth printer.

There's a lot you can't see.

Jensen, there's a right click and a scroll ball. The mouse is essentially one button, but after you click the top of the mouse becomes touch sensetive and tells were your finger is on the mouse. That's how it right clicks. The scroll ball is in the middle of the mouse and can scroll 360 degrees. So it has everything you've mentioned and it's beauitiful and erganomic.

Not to mention the squeezable side buttons that bring up expose, and the middle button [click the scroll ball] that brings up dashboard.

It's actually a 5 button mouse :P

SO yeah.

You paid extra for lots of those programs whereas window movie maker is free. Oh snap.

Awe, look who just made himself look stupid.

iLife comes free on every Mac. I haven't bought a single program, dipstick.

Everything I mentioned comes free on all Macs apart from the blutooth printer and .Mac.

And there's no free equivalent to iMovie on the PC. So don't give me your BS. Windows Movie Maker? I've used it for YEARS and iMovie makes it look like paint is to photoshop.
