nice, maybe you can hit Indiana Beach while you're at it. Holiday World and Six Flags St. Louis may be a stretch, but well worth it.

The day started off with my having to wake up at 6:30 (felt like 3:30 to my body) and getting in the car to drive the 2 hours from my hotel to SFNE. When I arrived, i was greeted with the image of the M&M stairs!!!!
Image
Well, at least they weren't actually IN the park, so i didn't have to see them again. After purchasing our tickets, we made a beeline for my first Intamin Mega, Bizzarro. Bizzarro was fun, I rode it twice in a row, and enjoyed it both times. Unfortunately, the flame effects seem to have been taken out....shame.
Image
Image
Image
After Bizzarro, we decided to take a ride on Gotham City Gauntlet: Escape From Arkham Asylum. This was a fun wild mouse, even if it had some odd bumps that shouldn't be on a "new" coaster.
Image
Image
Image
Image
Next, we headed for my first SLC, Mind Eraser. I found it wasn't as rough as people seem to make it out to be. This was definitely one of my favorite rides of the day. It had tons of footchoppers as well as fun inversions.
Image
Image
After Mind Eraser, it was off to Batman: The Dark Knight. This was another of my favorites of the day. This is a fun, albeit somewhat compact, B&M Floorless. I was actually pretty impressed with the amount of track that was fit into the amount of space available.
Image
Image
Image
Next we headed off towards the other end of the park, and stopped off at Thunderbolt for a ride. My first time on it, I actually didn't like it. To me, it felt too rough, especially considering the lack of pacing. In addition, the ride ops were quite slow, which also detracted from the experience. the second time, however, i seem to have gotten a better seat, because the ride seemed less rough and I did feel some airtime, even if it was weak.
Image
After Thunderbolt, we headed off toward Pandemonium. Somehow, we decided to take the gondola over to it. After boarding, right before the ride op launched us, the ride broke down. Luckily, we weren't actually on the cable yet, so we were able to get out and walk the rest of the way. Once we arrived at Pandemonium, yet another first for me, this time being my first Gerstlauer. I really liked this ride; it's short, but at the same time, just long enough.
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
After Pandemonium, we ate lunch at, well, PANDA!!!!
Image
Image
After lunch, I raced onto Flashback. I've been on boomerang clones before, so this was nothing new. But i think that they're always fun, so i took a ride on it.
Image
After Flashback, we headed over to Cyclone. I rode it in back the first time, and somehow I found it basically forceless. In addition, the screeching noise coming from it's wheels was less than pleasant. the second time however, I rode in the front and DAMN was it better. I got some Massive ejector over the crest of one of the hills. In addition, it seemed to be running faster than it had earlier, so that was good.
Image
After this, I went about riding coasters as I saw fit. I found myself hanging out more around some of the bigger coasters at the back of the park.

After a long day at the park, i returned to my hotel, only to find out that my room could not be found due to some odd error......

My final Ride count:

Bizzarro x8

Mind Eraser x5

Batman: The Dark Knight x5

Pandemonium x2

Thunderbolt x2

Cyclone x2

Flashback x1

Gotham City Gauntlet: Escape From Arkham Asylum x2

yeah, it was heavily trimmed and crept over basically anything that would've given airtime. speaking of Cyclone, while i was in line, some stupid jersey bitch said "why is this even still open? they haven't even made it all steel yet...."[lol]

on another note....I'm possibly visiting Canobie lake tomorrow. if i do...i'll post another PTR.

The first drop has some of the strongest airtime of any coaster ever, unless they actually fixed it.

Uhm i rode it last week back row and it kicked ass. It was either running REALLY bad or you did not ride back. Back has lots of kick ass everything. Especially air.

Yeah.....wasn't really that much airtime in the back, even on the first drop....

Pretty sure Colossus is the only wooden ride to have had a worse reprofiling than Cyclone.

Ride Cannonball in the back with a loose seatbelt, the third drop is great. Try front too.

I arrived at the park around 1:30, and made my way to the entrance. Once in, I set off looking for the new coaster in the park, Untamed. After wandering for about 5 minutes, I spotted a piece of track through the trees.

Was it? Yes! It was! I had found Untamed.

After shooting quite a few pictures, I decided to take a ride. For my first Eurofighter, this ride was pretty good. There were a few surprising bumps and jerks, but nothing that really took away from the experience. It was a fun ride, especially for its short length. In my opinion, it was a good addition to the park.

Up next, I made my way over to the Yankee cannonball. This is a classic out and back woodie with TONS of airtime, which I absolutely loved. This may have been my favorite coaster of the day. It had tons of airtime in both the front and back created by little floater hills and topped off by huge ejector moments at the top of the larger hills. In my opinion, it's definitely worth visiting Canobie Lake to ride this coaster.

Last but not least, I made my way over to the Canobie Corkscrew. It's a basic model corkscrew coaster like the one at Cedar Point. Overall, this coaster was actually pretty fun, and surprisingly smooth for an Arrow coaster of its age. So props to Canobie lake for maintaining their rides well.

After a ride on the Corkscrew, it was back to the Cannonball for another ride. While in line, I found this interesting piece of information.

Informative!

After Cannonball, it was back to Corkscrew for one more ride before I had to leave.

On my way to the corkscrew, I happened upon this:

After the photos, I left. Overall, it was a good about 2 hours in the park. I managed to ride all three coasters twice. In addition, the staff was all nice, so that's a bonus. My final verdict: Canobie Lake is a great park worth visiting. If you?????????re in the area, I?????????d strongly suggest visiting it, especially because it's really not too far out of the way. I also managed to get POV?????????s of all three coasters, which I'll be sending to Oscar, so be sure to check those out!

poop dude, I don't think you got enough pointless closeups of the Canobie rides...[/sarcasm]

But overall great trip report, and it sounds like you had a nice time! With any luck this summer I'll be able to visit both of those parks and spend the day with my Big who happens to call CLP his home park [:)] Reading this reminds me of how much I need to post my trip report from my week-long coaster trip last summer...lol

You didn't ride any of Canobie's flatrides? They all run very well. Glad you liked Cannonball though, it's one of the most underrated rides out there IMO. Very smooth and full of airtime. There used to be a pretty crazy hill after the turnaround, but GCI smoothed it out so now it's just kind of floater. But the third drop in the back seat is still amazing.

Cannonball was my first coaster and has always been in my top 5 wooden coaster list. Canobie is a great park with an amazing collection of rides. 2 of my favorites were the Telecombat and Matterhorn. I still cannot believe they got rid of them. I also really enjoy the canobie 500 and caterpillar. Like Freddie said, they keep their flats in pretty good condition especially since some of them are pretty old.
