okay, my favourite album just got Kerrang Album of the year. The album is "Three cheers for sweet revenge" by "My chemical Romance" and i must say every single song on it is awesome. I would have voted this album of the year too, but i was wondering, what are other peoples albums of the year??? What has been the best album this year in your opinion?? Are any albums worth buying?

I was thinking about buying the new Funeral for a friend album, but im not sure if i will like it.

What a farce, i hate My Chemical Romance, they are so boring to listen to...it sounds like those bands formed by 12 year old kids that have no idea what they are doing, i hate them. Along with Funeral For a Friend, in fact i deteste most new music these days. Where has the talent gone. We went from awesome bands like Floyd, Zepplin, Deep Purple to bands such as Franz Ferdinand and other such heaping piles of BS. I cant stand it, i have yet to hear a single new band from 2000-2005 that i actualy like

Really???? I suppose your not into emo screamo then!! LOL. Dont you even like McFly. HAHAHAHA. [lol] Just kidding, as if anyone can like McFly. I suppose you are right, there has been no really really really great bands that have formed in the last few years. But i do really like MCR. Their new song they are about to release is awesome.

My Chemical Romance suck! I hate emo. Its whiny garbage.

These are my competitors for album of the year:
Aborted - The Archaic Abattoir
Arch Enemy - Doomsday Machine
Belphegor - Goatreich-Fleshcult
Children Of Bodom - Are You Dead Yet?
Detonation - Portals To Uphobia
The Duskfall - Lifetime Supply Of Guilt
Kreator - Enemy Of God
Nevermore - This Godless Endeavor
Opeth - Ghost Reveries

To me, screaming death metal is as bad as emo. All sounds the same to me, some guy groaning down a mic sounds truely terrible

And this bit of singing would be? IMO it just sounds like screaming.

System of a Down's Mezmerize is my album of the year, and I hope Hypnotize is just as good. You can also add me to the list of people who don't like emo (I don't find anything wrong with screaming in metal though, as long as there's good music behind it).

Whos your album of the year then FN?

I don't really have an album of the year, though nothing from last year really sticks out in my as being far superior as the rest. I really enjoyed Siren Song of the Counter Culture by Rise Against and Watch Out! by Alexisonfire.

For 2005 I am really enjoying Queens of the Stone Age - Lullabies to Paralyze.

I really hate the term 'emo', refering to emotional. All music is emotional in one way or another and naming one type of music 'emo' is just not appropriate...

What death metal bands have you heard? I'm sure you still would stick to your opinion, but bands like Slipknot, Korn, System Of A Down, and Killswitch Engage is NOT the kind of music I like at all. Its almost as bad as emo IMO.

If you want to hear some real death metal, check out Vital Remains, Aborted, or Behemoth. These bands are insanely talented. Mostly all true metal bands are.

A lot of metal that I like also has no screaming whatsoever, but amazing vocalists. Give these bands a try, you'll be surprised:

Emo does refer to emotional, but it also refers to a trend and a style of music. Emos listen to emo music of course, but they also dress like these fags:

The guy in the white t-shirt is the best example. Just look at his emo haircut.

Yes, I know what else it refers to. I still think it is one of the worst music labels though.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... it's so much fun watching you guys argue.. the funniest part is how the art of music isn't really mentioned too much.instead it's almost like you're arguing about which is better...
guys who are trying to scare the crap out of your parents by grunting into a microphone,or guys who will piss off the guys who like grunting into a microphone music by getting more girls because they have an "intulectual" thing going on.
it's only september, and i think spiritualized will put out an album this year....

IntaminFan, you can't lump System of a Down in with Slipknot, Korn, and Killswitch Engage, they're nothing like any of those bands if you've listened to them at all.

Those four bands are all very commercial "metal". I would label Slipknot, Korn, and System Of A Down as mallcore (nu-metal), and Killswitch Engage as metalcore.

Basically, System Of A Down is just mainstream crap that tries to be metal, thats why I put them in with the mallcore poop. They all fail at the same thing.

I disagree.

Toxicity was a bad album, but they got so much worse with Mesmerized. I think Slipknot is a lot better than SOAD actually (and I really dislike Slipknot), and Joey Jordison completely owns SOAD's drummer.
