I'm going to both Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens the last week of May and I'm wondering how I should go through the park to make the most of my day. I definitely want to ride Intimidator 305 and Volcano but do I head straight towards the back or start at Dominator. Are there any fast passes for Kings Dominion. And for Busch Gardens, has anybody taken any of the tours or the Elite VIP Tour because I'm considering taking one of those. Please help me plan those days. I will be at each park for only one day. Thanks.

Go straight to volcano and flight of fear first thing. They gain the largest lines. Save dominator for later. The lines fore Intimidator get progressively longer as far as a remember, but never over 10 min on the day i went, and it was only running 1 train. On a crowded day it still has one of the shortest waits in the park. Dominator is walkon by mid day so wait for that. All the other rides are generally walk on. Even mid day volcano had a long line, but the crew moves it quickly and there are multiple trains.

Busch gardens I dont remember having much of a plan, but I would go to griffon and alpengeist first. Then lochness, then apollos. Good luck!

Volcano is always the longest line...FoF is usually right there with it, but I305 usually doesn't have too big of a line. Everything else shouldn't be more than a few minutes unless it is unusually crowded (which it shouldn't be in May).

BG I like to hit Apollo first and then head towards Alpengeist and what will be Verbolten. After that you can make your way to Griffon and Nessie. The park is basically a circle so you can go either way, but that is how I like to do it.

^^Wrong. Apollos is an awful coaster when it hasnt warmed up. Trust me you dont want that to be the first ride. I made that mistake and thought it just wasnt as good as i remembered and didnt end up riding it until right before we left and it was riding incredible.

^Right.

Well the day I went I didn't get there right when the park opened, so I didn't ride it until at least an hour after it was running, and I rode it in the back later in the day as the last ride before we left, so perhaps I am remembering that. I do remember that the back was better in my opinion. The air on that first drop and the last drop in the back is nuts.

Yeah I got the first train of the day and it just plain sucked. My second ride right after was even noticably better.

The only suggestion for you is to make it a priority to ride Loch Ness in the back. It turns it from a mediocre coaster to being the 2nd best in the park. It has some awesome airtime on those drops and it is surprisingly smooth. Otherwise, I have no suggestions.

Edit: typo fix
1.Boulder Dash | 2.Legend(HW) | 3.Beast | 4.Ravine Flyer II | 5.Intimdator 305 | 6.Phoenix | 7.Twisted Timbers | 8.Wicked Cyclone | 9.Thunderhead | 10.Storm Chaser

^YES. One of the best first drops. And very smooth.

Dominator is definitely worth whatever you have to wait for it. I really miss it.

+1 on Apollo in the morning... such a God-awful ride when cold. But you can get quick queue which is a quick pass type system.
Just keep scrolling...

2012: the year when we start to think a 200', 70+mph ride with 825' of drops that's ranked in the top 25 in the world is absolutely terrible in the morning.

smh lol

Yeah it's been 10 years but I've ridden that ride over 130x, on hot days and days where I'd be freezing on the rides with my coat on, and always enjoyed it. Either way it's still a lot better than most other things you could be doing at the time.
