Today Knoebles posted on their Facebook page that they are going big in 2015. Impulse is a steel coaster which will be the parks first non-child steel coaster. So far it looks similar to other rides that Gerstlauer has designed around the world though I cant seem to find any proof that this is indeed on of the companies rides.

Looks cool and it will be nice to have something like this within a reasonable distance from me. Hopefully they can make the 2015 deadline.

Looks like they got someone that knew how to build in No Limits rather then go the route most parks do based on the pictures.

It is a Zierer, the park confirmed it on Facebook. But unlike Wicked, it has a lift instead of the launches.

I think it might look like a lift right now, but I still believe it will most likely be a tower launch. They have that decently long section (which is just the preliminary launch) before the tower. And the straight section up the tower also produces launch. They may have just decided to use the lift type in NoLimits to make the simulation work.

This has me excited. Even though its a 3 hour drive it is my 2nd favorite of the PA parks. Also this announcement has made the local news. The only local park that gets a news story is Dorney, and even that is a rarity
What are these for?

Well couldn't you just use transport sections in NL1 to get the launch effect? The simulator would work fine with that.

They have said many times it will be a life. Also looks pretty lame :(

Yeah, they clearly stated on FB that it will be a traditional chain lift. They "like the anticipation" (and might not have the money for a launch).

Quite honestly a launch doesn't fit the Knoebels style. The best thing about the park is its traditional look and feel.
What are these for?

According to Knoebels, they hate launches and it will be a lift hill. Personally I like that better, the build up on Fahrenheit going up that vertical lift is much more intense than just getting thrown over in my opinion... I just hope Knoebels isn't giving in to the pressure of more modern parks like I feel kennywood is =/ I really like that they build and save older rides, and with parks in question around the world like they are, I hope that Impulse didn't just permanently doom a more unique and salvageable ride

You keep on believing that. They have said multiple times it's a lift.
