Hello
I am making a coaster that has the style of Kumba from Bush Gardens. I finally made it to the MCBR but having some trouble figuring out what goes on here. Does anyone know the speed that the train goes through the MCBR. Looks almost to fast to stop it cuz its so short, and if it did is it a slopped release or launched release? Looks like it wouldnt be able to finish the course on a slopped release. And not long enough to get up to speed from a launch. If I can get the speed then I can find out better whats going on.

As far as the speed at which it leaves the MCBR, I'm sure it varies day to day. As to the exact speed though, I'm not sure and estimating it based on videos alone is going to be difficult. I wouldn't make your ride come to a complete stop, but do make sure that in the case of an E-stop it CAN come to a complete stop in the zone. I can however answer your other question. Most if not all B&M's, Kumba obviously being one of them, use strictly a sloped release for their MCBRs. Go watch a video of Kumba or anything else for that matter and you can see there is no device such as tires or LIMs located on the brakes.

I'm about 99% sure that the MCBR is sloped and lets the train complete the course on gravity alone (I'm 100% sure that the train is able to complete the course). I am also 100% sure that the MCBR would be able to stop the train in case of an emergency. I'm about 50% sure that it hits the MBCR at about 20-25 mph and has an emergency deceleration somewhere in the range of 1-1.7ish G.

Did that help? [:)]

EDIT: Just watched a POV. It looks like, at least in the video I watched, the MCBR actually slows the train down to something like 10 mph during regular operation.

Thanks, knowing its a slopped release narrows things down alot.

Well that one was obvious yes, I meant an MCBR in the air like so many people make on their tracks in NL.
What are these for?

Okay so nothing special about this MCBR. It just looked faster and shorter than usual.

THE MCBR on KUMBA IS weird, ON some DAYS that i have Ridden it the train just roars through and others it just gets a clamp n continues where no speed is really lost, and i have to say those corkscrews are one hell of bashing
