The announcement has been made, please see the following post for more details on what Lake Compounce is opening for 2016: Lake Compounce: Phobia

It looks like Lake Compounce has started teasing their 2016 attraction with this Facebook post. At this point, it's hard to tell what it could be. It would be nice if it's a new roller coaster since it has been 15 years since Boulder Dash was added.

This isn't Six Flags.

It might be a Premier similar to Sky Rocket as Kennywood and LC are owned by the same company.

That would probably be a bit too expensive for a park of LC's size. I could see them getting a Eurofighter or something like Impulse at Knoebels.

^I was about to say an Impulse-like coaster would fit perfectly at LC
It's been a long time

still they haven't added a coaster in 15 years and holiday world got a launch b&m I can see them adding something like that and boulder dash put them on the map like the voyage did for holiday world so I can see them getting a big coaster soon

They don't get as much business as Holiday World does as SFNE takes a lot of their business and B&M's are pretty expensive. I doubt they actually wanted to wait this long before adding a coaster. If they had the money before they would have done it.

Yea I'm not gonna get my hopes up too quickly for this. When they teased for this year's attraction I got extremely hyped and was let down at the addition of the Dino Expedition even though it was a good decision for the park.

Could it be something as simple as replacing their enterprise with that new updated enterprise type flat I've seen posted on the Coaster crew's FB page a couple times?
What are these for?

I'd love to see that new one implemented with the Volcano at Kennywood, especially if LC gets the new one maybe we'll get an upgrade :D

S&S Freefly / Tempesto style?

I heard there isn't a great deal of space in the park?

Maybe a Larson Loop,
Even the text font looks similar on the clue as on Brain Drain's Logo.
They have not applied for any ride trademarks this year besides "DUKE" which is strange.

Hmm... it looks like whatever this is will probably be themed to spiders.

Okay so It must be called Black Widow since they applied for that TM with a Frisbee at Kennywood. So maybe it's a copy of that ride. I reaches a height of 90' might be close to 10x10 or 100 feet.

I hope it's a Zamperla Giant Discovery like Black Widow at Kennywood! That would be a great addition!

I do understand the arguement that the announcement is early for a flat ride. I think black widow could be the name, but it could very well be a coaster.

Looks like the name of this ride will be something along the lines of facing your fears?
Oh, were you expecting something here?

See how the text of Phobia is in all caps. I think that is part of the name. I mean acrophobia seems the most plausible for a amusement ride but, heck who knows. I do like that they have us guessing. This is exciting news for LC!

I could still see the phobia theme with a ride like Black Widow! Still think the view from the top of Black Widow would top this one though ;)

Not if it's placed on top of the mountain! There is an amazing view from the top of Downtime, but the view from the top of NESS is amazing with the CT river so close by.
