Great Coasters International, Inc. has been chosen to design/build a 4,817 ft (1,468 m) wood coaster for China OCT's Knight Valley. This behemoth will be GCI's largest single track coaster yet and will feature a 147 ft (44.8 m) lift and a wild 131 ft (40 m) triple-down first drop. Beginning the ride with a castle fly-through, the ride also has an exciting station fly-through (often a GCI signature), a station fly-by, and 80 degrees of banking. All of this is experienced while riding two Millennium Flyer trains, which are now the gold standard for wood coaster trains.

This amazing ride will open late this year, and GCI Coasters continue their reign as the biggest bargain in the business.

Hell, Why is China getting all the good wooden coasters!? haha

This looks fantastic. This is most deffinately going to be GCI's best coaster to date! The terrain interaction looks breathtaking.

yeah, but if you look the other end of the tunnel Is right above that in the pic
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

The tunnel is really short. But even so, this thing is gonna be awesome!!!
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

^Regardless of its length, I believe this is the first underground tunnel GCI has used (assuming the rendering is accurate). First a GG, now a GCI... those folks in China don't know how good they have it!

This is just a perfect coaster. And check out that huge airtime hill on the way down the first drop!

Perhaps it was already that way. Maybe there was a flatride or something.

And sometimes digging it out is cheaper than tunneling.

Yeah its tall but it hugs the ground alot. Reminds me slightly of Magnus Colossus, different manufacturer and design i guess but quite similar as far as the interaction with the terrain goes.
Doesn't look too appealing in my opinion though, no obvious airtime hotspot's either except a couple maybe. Not a fan, as of yet anyway could turn out awesome.

Newer GCIs have sustained floater over all the long hills and ejector over the shorter ones and in most/all of the banking transitions. It will definitely have airtime.

Edit: Saying that Freddo. Check the close up of the first triple down and you possibly could be correct. Still, looks pretty bland.

Look at any GCI after Ozark Wildcat. All of the shaping is the same for the most part and the forces are pretty pronounced so its easy to see where there is airtime unlike on some CCIs. GCIs are fairly predictable if you've been on one before. I'd bet that the drop out of the turn off the lift will have a light pop in the back seat, then the large hill at the bottom will have sustained floater. The two longer hills after will probably have floater for their entire duration too.

What is extremely unique about GCI's is that they don't have airtime just on the hills. A lot of the times they have airtime on their banks like you see many times on Thunderhead:

I see a lot of that in this ride, too. GCI is also good at having air in their transitions. I know you think that GCI's don't usually have air and you expect it only on hills but look for it in other places, as well.

As hyyyper said, it is usually cheaper to dig out than to "tunnel". When a coaster goes underground, the builder had to remove the dirt in that spot, pour footings, erect bents, lay track, enclose with a cement and steel caisson, and then back fill the area with dirt. It would be cheaper to do like they did on Beast and Adventure Express (for example), and just make wooden tunnels instead of buried tunnels.
