drop all the way, Acrophobia is the best drop rife that I have ever been on. I love how the ride ops play with you while you sit 200 feet in the air in anticipation

Drops are way better than launches. Would you rather have someone push your sled or have it cruise down the hill. You can get the same speeds and all, but sliding down the hill is way more fun. Same idea for coasters.

Drops are the way to go.

The scariest drop I have been on is Supreme Scream, but the I honestly like The Twilight Zone: Tower of Terror, You get about 5 drops in one ride, and you have some of Disney's best theming, and thankfully a story on a newer Disney attraction.

But both launch and drop are over quick so it really depends on the experience rather than time is my opinion

I have tested Drops(High Fall@Movie Park Germany, Scream@Heide Park, Free Fall@Holiday Park and Dalton Terror@Walibi Belgium) and Launch (SpaceShot@Walibi World and Lorraine).

I have to say that drops are clearly better! Like many of you guys, it's because of the freaking anticipation, and then the great feeling to fall straight down just like you're going to die! So great. My favourite would be High Fall because it's a Gyro Stand Up Floor less Tilt, it's not really tall but OMG what an amazing feeling! i felt like my heart just stayed up there when i fell! Scream is the second because of it's amazing size! 103Meters!! and 70meters of fall, the Gyro provide you an excellent view of the park and the music just froze your blood! The Air time in these two rides is the most important factor of course!

A drop from the top of the tower is the best! Detonator and Tower of Terror were pretty fun although Detonator felt a little too intense!

Dude, pinfari....and intense dont mix[lol].
Detonator was fun, but just too short.

Launch or Drop eh??? I'll choose cliffhanger at FL, and then i'll have a launch, and a drop. On the same tower[:D]!

haha, n00bs, i've ridden the tallest freefal, and the tension that the lifting builds is nothing compared with the drop afterwards!

I prefer a normal drop, BUT the coach has to tilt, that's so surprising. The variety of coaches on Hurakan Condor is great. If there are only usual sit-down coaches, I prefer a launch.. [:)]

Hmmmmm, DR. Doom's Fearfall has some KICK BUTT airtime, but so does Dominator Green @ DP. It's a really close call, but I think drop is better, but not by much.

Basically similar to other drop towers. Scream's drop lasts about 1 - 2 seconds longer and is a bit more intense. That's the only noticeable difference. Actually I can hardly tell any difference.

Both! Why not have a launched ride where, instead of hitting brakes at the end, you hit the bottom of a chain lift [:D]

In all seriousness though, I much prefer launched rides, partly because I have vertigo and really tall chainlifts have been known to make it play up a little, and I just love the feeling of acceleration that you get from launched rides. One of the first things I said after getting off Rita yesterday was "if it were up to me, all rides would be Intamin Rockets" [lol], while I obviously don't actually believe that, it's just... yeah. I WANT to ride Dodonpa!!! [lol] Obviously it would get boring if all rides were launched rides, but that's just what I prefer [:)]

The question is: do you prefer Free Fall or "Launched Tower"?

We are not talking about coasters[^]
