I'm just wondering what you think would happen if you were riding a LIM coaster and there was a power outage. I know this is stupid but I just want to know.

I dunno maybe the ride would just use emergency power for the brakes under the LIMS

So I assume your asking if the rides lims went out during the launch, Which is VERY unlikely cus its a period like 2 seconds. But if that happened the train wouldnt reach vull speed and would simply valley and they would follow any regular valleying procedures. If its a ride like Superman the escape where they need the lims to slow it down. Those rides store the required power in the lims so it can make the return trip.

I was thinking about upward booster LIM's like on Mr. Freeze. If the power went out after the initial launch and before that one, what would happen.

And yes I do know that that would be very unlikely.

Like SFMM homie said, the train would valley in a case like Mr. Freeze. What I'm wondering now is what would happen if the power went out during the launch (so it didn't reach full speed), did NOT make it through the first element, and rolled back to the launch. What would stop it?

it's not just the return trip, their batteries contain power for the whole ride, so i the power goes out...you'll be fine

Restored power in the LIMs? What are you on about, seriously thats sounds like pure guess work. I'm not going to comment and wait for a senior member to come and enlighten us [lol]

Premier LIM coasters also use conventional friction brakes.

^This is the same thing that people always bitch about on launched NL coasters... when you press F12 during the launch, the train rolls back and crashes. This has been annoying me for a long time, as I know that it doesn't happen in real life, so thanks FN for clearing that up. I was getting sick of losing points for something that I could not fix.
