Liseberg 2018 - Valkyria: B&M Dive Coaster

So I just heard that Valkyria might open in 2019 instead of 2018 due to problems with the tunnel...

That would suck, a lot of people already planned their flight for the opening

It has never been said that Valkyria will be ready for the season premiere at the end of April. The goal picture has always been that the construction will be completed during the summer, something that Andreas Andersen is still hoping for.

"It can be difficult when building such big complex projects. So we'll get used to the fact that we open when we open, "he says.

Complicated land to build in
At the moment, workers are struggling to come down deep enough into the ground to build the tunnel.

"We are working on and moving forward at a good pace. We're going down eight meters and I think we're down five or six meters right now, says Andreas Andersen.

Although a muddy ground was not something that discouraged Liseberg from the huge effort, Andreas Andersen says that the tunnel building proved to be very difficult.

One of V??stl??nken's stations is planned to be built at Korsv??gen, close to Liseberg. According to Andreas Andersen, Liseberg uses similar technology at Valkyrias tunnel building that will be used when the West Link will be built.

"I can only say that I'm not jealous at the Swedish Transport Administration, it's really complicated.

I've also seen that Valkyria is finally due to open on August 10th.

One week to go then! It looks incredible and I really hope to go to Liseberg one day.

I think this is probably the best dive coaster layout B&M has made so far. Too bad I got my first rides on Valravn last month and discovered the vests prevent me getting any airtime at all on these things. Congrats to those of you who don't share this problem
