This whole story makes me nuts. I'm tired of hearing the word "hoax" because that gives the impression that the intention was for these things to be mistaken for something dangerous. Also, why is there no story about how, in some cities, the displays were in place for 3 weeks without incident? If the authorities are taking it so seriously that they're pressing charges, then why did these LEDs go unnoticed for 3 weeks? If they were, in fact, explosive devises, 10 different cities would have had explosions and injuries and casualties. Instead of going after the marketing company or Turner Broadcasting, they should be investigating why it took 3 weeks to notice "suspicious" devices all over the country.

I also this this is really retarded. Aparantly they had these things all around the country and only Boston freaked out. And I think it should be noted to the companies that they shouldn't do advertisments like this again, but their intentions were not to freak people out, so imo no punishment should result from this.

This is truly pathetic. There had to have been one cop or anybody who was like "umm guys. You realize those are cartoon characters right....?" But no, they freaked out.

I don't think they should be punished but they will be because Homeland Security went crazy and didn't react appropriately. I think the first person to say that they thought it was a bomb or the like should be punished more than the advertising agency.

Personally, I think they should warm up their checkbooks and pay a fine for being stupid. I mean, idiocy is not free.

Sometimes the best thing to say is nothing at all.

This is exactly what I said to myself when I saw the word hoax used. I hate how much people over react to everything these days.

I find it surprising that the people who were reporting the bomb scare were apparently a newscast owned by Turner Broadcasting. How stupid do you have to be? IT'S A FRIGGIN' CARTOON! Anybody with half a brain could have google-searched the subject to see that this was done in other cities. I suppose Turner Broadcasting could have let them know that is was all advertising, but even still. The whole thing has completely been blown out of proportion.

Unfortunately Boston isn't where the bumpkins usually hang out. [;)]
