I saw this image posted yesterday by UORBuzz and was a bit astounded at how imposing yet pretty the new London facades are at Universal Studios Florida. The scaffolding has just come down on the fronts, and while they're still not totally complete it gives us a first unobstructed look at the enormous structure. The purpose of the facades are to present the appearance of modern London, but they of course hide the entire new Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Diagon Alley addition.
The facades represent famous London landmarks but also buildings that played an important role in the Potter series. On the far right are a selection of homefronts meant to represent 12 Grimmauld Place (not that we can see it, though) where the Order of the Phoenix is based.
King's Cross railway station is shown on the far left, which is also where the Potter crew would find the boarding platform 9 3/4 for the Hogwarts Express. Here in Florida the station will connect visitors to the same platform... for a trip to Islands of Adventure and Hogsmeade.
The middle right building is a replica of London's famous Wyndham's Theatre, and the middle left is a take on Leicester Square - I think.
When the final paint is applied and additional details layered on I'm sure the new structures will look even better - they've already managed to permanently transform a big part of the Universal Studios Florida Property!
