on wednsday my brother, mom,dad and i went to magic mountain and met up with oscar for a day of fun !
the night before my family and i stayed at a motel nearby, so my brother and i were at magic mountain before the parking lot even opened. we met oscar before the gates opened and when they did we booked it towards terminator salvation. we were the first guests to arrive at it's entrance ..
i was pretty excited, in fact a little too excited .. i'd been wanting to ride a gci since i saw those trains for the first time ..well, we were able to get in two last car (well second to last , we'll get to that) rides within the first 15 minutes, and yes the ride is good.. BUT, well, it's no ghostrider. and instead of a last car theres a sound system mounted where it ought to be. nevertheless i can see why it was a good move for magic mountain to install it .. gcis are very "freindly " rides apparently , and this was no exception .. it had some decent air and lats, but almost zero intensity..afterwars was a spin on tatsu, maybe a 30 minute wait .. aftrwards we basically took the park as normal we were able to hit everything with the obvious exceptions of deja vu and superman (some things twice) before 5 oclock , and headed over to x 2 .. x2 was still as great as ever, even if not as suprising as it was when it had first opened, and the wait was less than an hour ..
one thing i had noticed throughout the day was the overall new look magic mountain had, in a word CLEAN! very very clean , and even safe ..the new owner wasnt kidding when he said he was going for a new park image, and i really noticed a difference.. i will post pictures as soon as i get home from work . , .. ..

The Terminator theming looks really fantastic, but the ride doesn't really impress me.

Yes, it is a beautiful park. It's got loads of trees all over, and nicely trimmed hedges. I was up there back in july, the 15th. Termy has like $1,000,000 worth of flatscreens alone! And yes, it's a gorgeous ride, but it kinda lacks that awesome punch it looks to have [:(]
