Millenium Force wasn't that good. Too many crucial details overlooked. Air is good, still missing details.

I305 was absolute crap IMO.

I'd give the award to Screamin'. Even though it was unfinished, for what it had, it was practically dead on. That thing was INSANE.

[Frankly ridiculous] opinions are always easier to engage with if a reason for having the opinion is given. You are entitled to feel how you feel and neither of those recreations are mine, but I think you're being a contrarian for the sake of being a contrarian here. Prove me wrong, though. What crucial details were overlooked in that MF recreation? Why, exactly, was I305 "absolute crap"?

If you don't even care enough to explain your opinions, then don't expect anyone to have much respect for them.

I'm just having fun. But just wanted him to check out mine considering he's looking for accurate recreations and has not seen it yet.

I heard about someone that was making a Wild Thing recreation. Apparently the track length is almost exact!

What about Real's Top Thrill Dragster? I mean, TTD isnt that hard to recreate, but he got it spot on

No, that's true, the trackwork itself is not difficult but there are a lot of little details that have to go into a TTD recreation and he pretty much got them all if I recall correctly.

edit: I just had a poke around again Real's TTD and I really am pretty astounded how many tiny little details he got (like all of the "information" signs in the queue both being there and in the right place). The biggest issue for me calling that one of the "greatest recreations ever" is that the trackwork is-- again-- simply not as involved as (for example) an Intamin hyper or Giga, so when you're comparing that to some other pretty astounding recreations that contain both flawless and complicated trackwork AND close attention to small details, TTD kinda pales. IMO.

I305's trackwork was quite inaccurate. The transitions weren't high enough off the ground, the first turn pulled to flat too quickly, the shape of the first air hill was off, the last turn was too banked, the turn into the brakes wasn't sharp enough, and they'res much more.

Dave's Air recreation is insanely close though.

Top Thrill Dragster? Almost dead on. Wicked Twister is closer.

Screamin' however?

All the bolts, and everything he was doing.

Dead on. I think it would either be Screamin', Wicked Twister, or Air.

Also, who's done Nemesis?

How could he have done any better if the ride was not even completed when he released I305?

I'm with TTD on that one. You can't criticize someone because they had a few minor mistakes on a recreation of a ride that wasn't even open at the time.

The thread is about the most accurate recreation ever. Someone creating a ride before it's even open obviously hinders their ability to get it perfectly right but it certainly doesn't mean they should get free credit in terms of how accurate it is. If someone were to look at this thread to find out what the most accurate recreation was then that ride would not be one of the best. Sure its harsh to criticize and he may have done a good job - but its not the most accurate recreation and thats what the thread is about!

^ Yes but he does get credit for being the best because no one else came even close to his work after the ride was completed.

Sure - like I said it may well be good but it's not the best recreation ever - hence he's well within his right to criticize the detail when compared to other recreations.

^ Very true, but I think it can be agreed it is the best I305 recreation ever, since no one ever came close to him.

A113's Speed the Ride recreation was far better than I305. It was pretty close.

Dave's Air is very close.

Lucas Bosch's Shambhala is very close.

Top Thrill Dragster and Wicked Twister are close as well.

Screamin's also very darn close.

Anyone here think A113 will ever revisit Screamin' in NL2?

^ Lucas' Shambhala recreation has absolutely FLAWLESS trackwork. He put pictures of his recreation over the real thing, and they were dead on. He spend forever working on the first drop by itself.

Also, I think A113 once said he will not be finishing Screamin'.
