I'm not even concerned about the length, Skyrush is one of the best rides I've been on and its extremely short
What are these for?

This is where my issue is. If you don't have the budget to build a large scale roller coaster, why make the half ass attempt? Simply to hold some record that, generally speaking, most people don't care about? People will come regardless simply because it's a new coaster. When Knott's build Silver Bullet, a generic inverted coaster an hour south of another inverted coaster, they still saw a boost in attendance. I'd rather have the smaller Medusa then the "larger" Goliath. Long term, I would probably find Medusa to be more enjoyable and worth my time.

A lot of it is marketability. It's a lot easier to express how you have the tallest and steepest drop of a wooden coaster, or the most inversions, and it's a lot easier for the majority of people to understand. People are impressed by those features. Six Flags knows that, with a good quality manufacturer like RMC, if the park can get people to come the first time with their marketing, then the quality of the ride will get people to come again and tell/bring their friends. Yes the ride could be better...we can both agree on that. The issue is whether they see that extra cost influencing the anticipated return on investment enough. If they think that people will be impressed enough without adding 5 million dollars worth of track, we've seen they'll make the shorter ride and add a large flat ride to another Six Flags park with the extra money. It's not a terrible idea for them...yes I'd rather see a 5000' Intamin at my home park Great Adventure, but I can understand that doing so might mean two smaller parks get a less people because their target demographics don't see them adding at least *something* new.

The "half ass attempt" means big numbers for the park. If you don't have the money to go all out, you're not going to help your cause necessarily if you don't do something strong but maybe not "the best". You said it yourself; people will come regardless because it's a new coaster. It's all business.

Huh? I guarantee almost every single element on this coaster is going to have negative forces.


I think the ride looks incredible. I'd much rather have these super intense, short rides that kick fuging ass from start to finish then boring spread out or way too long rides of nothing with random excitement in between. Outlaw Run and I-305 are my top 2 coasters, for reference. Just so intense from lift hill to brake run and make you go WTF.

^ I guess my critique isn't so much of the lack of length as it is the lack of flow between the elements. It seems like the airtime hill isn't really intentional, more of a way of getting the train from the turnaround to the dive loop instead of there to make the ride better. Each element is entered and exited at 0* banking making it feel like they were all just glued together rather than well blended together like Outlaw Run were the layout flows really well from one batshit crazy element to the next as this is just the elements without the finesse. NTAG and IRAT both suffer a little from it, but that's explainable as they had to fit the old footer plans while this doesn't. It looks like it'll be fun but not as good as Outlaw Run or SFM's Medusa rehab, which honestly looks like it has all the finesse and flow that this lacks.

Well when you have a really skinny, small plot of land there's not much more they could do with the layout. Having a pretty straight double out and back allows to fit more in and use a lot of the same structure for multiple elements. It's a economical design. It's not the same crazy flowing terrain like Outlaw Run. They are 100% different coasters and I really like that. Shows RMC can do anything.
