So earlier today, I decided to enjoy a little bit of the warmer weather we've been experiencing, and head out on a short hike on this new trail I discovered. I heard from other trail users that this trail actually runs right behind this awesome standalone roller coaster, Chimera, and I had to check it out. I've ridden it many times, but never gotten to see it from outside the park!
But after some hiking, as I rounded the bend where the coaster comes into view - I was greeted to a giant yellow crane sticking up out of the trees! What could this mean?
Upon a closer look (the fence reaches all the way around, I checked...), it seems like they're removing track from just before the brake run. Maybe they're doing some maintenance on that section? I've never seen them do this extensive of a fix before.
I guess there's two possibilities here, we're either just seeing some maintenance, or there's a possibility of a big change coming! Either way, I'll definitely be returning here soon to keep you guys updated!
EDIT - I was able to find this awesome picture of Chimera at the trail's visitor center! I wish I had seen this scene before today, this view looks incredible!
