NEW: Intamin STRATA !!

So i have a quick question, im in the process of constructing a monster intamin STRATA that stands 420ft in the air...my question is how should i go about supporting this beast?? The I305/SkyRush way or the MilleniumForce way??

400'+ is a strata coaster, and since you aren't using the new spine model support it the MF way

personal opinion, do you think the "new" spine would be benefical to a strata thats in the form of a traditional(mega/giga) coaster ?

I personally like the look of the classic MF-style supports, but really in the end it just comes down to a matter of personal opinion on your part.

If you really want to go for accuracy, then look at the layout. If it's more about big hills and has overbanked turns, then probably MF-style supports would be more appropriate. If it has lots of ground turns, quick transitions, and short hills with lots of ejector airtime, then I305 supports would probably be more appropriate.

You could try like a weird hybrid or something. i305 spine, but with little clusters of MF-style supports placed very far apart. That way it would seem more like a new coaster and still have a seemingly good structural rigidity.

With a 400-foot lift hill, you're probably going to need more than the "traditional" 2 support structures if you're supporting it with I305-style trusses, only because it has so much more horizontal space to cover. If you use MF-style towers, then there really is no "normal" way to do it and thus any number of structures (spaced appropriately, of course) would work.

I'm envisioning the "hybrid" structure that's been mentioned, and I can't really see any way to make it look good . But of course, "looking good" is both a matter of taste and rather unimportant in the world of structures.

Try telling that to the UK power grid who wanted to make our pylons look more asthetic. Cue loads of archetects coming up with ideas that either wouldn't work or would be incredibly expensive.
