Hey you guys. I'm a new member and new to NL. My name is jeff Goodman, and I have been building coasters since the first Disney release of "Coaster." I was a tester for Ultimate Ride Disney.

I love NL! I was instantly challenged and have spent the last week or so building my first semi-complete NL coaster. I would like help with it before I upload. I want to ask those of you with whom I've worked in the past to study what I have so far and tell me what you see. Who around this site knows what they are talking about when it comes to realistic coasters.

For those who are qualified, email me at jeffxgoodman@msn.com or IM me on MSN or reply here.

Yes, I do... but I'm not just a newb who doesn't take his work seriously. Many on this site know who I am and would be willing to help me adjust to a new program. I'm not just promoting a coaster... I hope that isn't what you interpreted.

Yeah WWS. My name is Jeff Goodman AKA JGoodman on the ultimate ride site. I was a tester for UR Disney, and have stayed out of online exchanges for about 14 months. I was sick of the UR product and was feeling unchallenged because of the program's limitations and frustrated with the un-reality factor. It's a great program, don't get me wrong... I just wanted more freedom. I'm more interested in the coaster than the MODs I can make, so I bought the new version of NL in hopes of finding a program that allows for more freedom and gives me more options in the creation process . So far I love it.
Who all is here that I would know from the beginnings of UR?

cool, I was a beta tester for URCD and URDC, unfortunately my participation in URDC beta testing was cut short due to unfriendly people that were in that group [:p] and I too felt UR/CD/DC was not challenging enough and moved on to NL. Welcome to the site! I'd be happy to test your track, rather I can't since I am tied up in many other duties for the next few weeks.
Weng, I wasn't being impolite, just asking more info [:p]

Actually, the "Coaster" game, from what I understand, was basically just modernized to become ultimate ride. The basic structure of the game is the same with better graphics and more options. Those that know more about the program could give you a better answer - I'm an idiot when it comes to that stuff. I loved the "judges" on the old game, and I really pushed for them on the new URDC. The judges were taken out of the program (URDC) very early during testing....

Oh Wow! You guys are right on that one. It's been so long since I've played the game - I don't even think I have played the final build - I think it's still in the little white sleeve that D.I. sent it in. I remember that I was really happy that the Disney characters were going to be the judges, but I would still miss the totally tubular surfer dude.

That whole testing experience was a mess. I remember that the first build was sent to the wrong address. I never got the second. And the third was sent to the same wrong address or something. So when I finally received the first and third builds (If I remember correctly), all the bugs I found had already been documented. I really didn't feel like I was much of the program. As a result, I lost interest in the game. No offense to Philip Hopbell... I think he had a lot of things going on at the office at that time. If I remember correctly he didn't have much to work with. Since then, I've lost touch and fell out of the loop.
