I saw this in the paper today, not a great name, but not really a bad one either IMO. What's kinda cool is that the Euro Fighter is going to be Spongebob themed, which I can actually see being really funny.

Heres the article. http://www.twincities.com/allheadlines/ ... ck_check=1

"Changes at the park will go much deeper than the name. Mall of America is investing about $30 million in park improvements including four new rides, healthy food options and a high-tech ticketing system.

Three of the new rides, to be built in the center of the park - it really is being called "center of the universe" - will replace the underused fountain with water canyons. They are:

An Avatar-themed surf rider that oscillates on a U-shaped track.

A bouncing spring ride aimed at bigger kids and adults.

Kiddy bumper cars.

The fourth new ride, a SpongeBob-themed roller coaster, will be in the northwest corner of the park.

Along with the fountain, the mall is eliminating the Mystery Mine simulated ride, which Maureen Bausch, the mall's vice president of business development, called "dated."

Other current rides will remain, although many will be re-themed. The
Ferris wheel, for example, is going to Dora, who will also get her own Dora Plaza with sculptures and seating."

Dora? That's just wrong. Never defile an amusement park with that character.

If it's even a Eurofighter, I think they might've changed their minds. Don't you find it kind of strange that the Eurofighter was announced but then all of the sudden Galaxyland gets a spinner and there is no more news about it after that? Triple 5 owns both parks, and maybe the cut the deal with Gerst for MOA and shifted a spinner over to Galaxyland before construction.

^I don't care (well, actually, I do)! It should be named after Avatar! Have you seen that show? So action packed.

i hope they don't expand any futher, cos that would mean Toverland won't be becoming the largest indoor themepark in the world in 2010

I think this is a great change....they only have room for kids coasters anyhow, and when I went it really did feel like a more acute them would serve them well. Im actually interested in seeing how this turns out, I think its a good move regardless though.
