Is there anyway to take elements from a finished no-limits track and incorporate them into Newton2?

Seems newt2 can not read an element from an NL track but it can save elements as NL elements and Newt2 elements to use in NL!

Is there a way around this to read elements from NL instead of making elements from scratch only in newt??

Newt is easy to use but is lacking a lot of reference points in making tracks when it comes to displaying properties for the next section. I mean you could make an entire track with newt2 but it's very hard to see whats going on with each piece in relation to size, speed and so on.

Saving the whole track can be done but what looks like something very smooth in Newt2 ends up rough and broken when it is loaded into NL as an element and since you can't ride the track like you can in NL in 3d mode to check for smoothness it kind of makes things a bit tough.

Yeah, I test after every element I make to try to get it as smooth as possible.

If you're having smoothness issues make sure you're in Quaternion orientation whenever you have near vertical track, and make sure your starting point is at the same place as the first vertex.

^not vertical track, just when the track goes beyond the point of 90 degrees.
you just have to pay attention to each piece then when you feel the piece is ready move to the next one. and you can always go back to other previous sections.

^^you can build with Euler orientation fine past 90 degrees, just it gets screwy when you get near 90.

I use quaternion for nearly everything except unbanked hills and sections where I want an extremely specific and consistent banking.
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

Wouldn't most hills be unbanked? You're not going to make a whole coaster out of Stengel dives.

no, you can bank them like 20-30 degrees to get some good lats out of them

Depends on what type of coaster you're making. I don't think "good lats" would be needed in say a B&M hyper.

Well every element should be specific to the coaster. If you've ever tried inserting a pre-made element on a caster, it never comes out right, and there is a huge jerk.
Newton also gives the speed of the coaster leaving the segment. If you have any questions on speed over a hill or in a turn etc, you should build the track up to that point, and then convert from meters.
If you have q jerky ride, make sure your friction settings, heartlining settings, and your exporting settngs are all correct. If any of those are wrong, your coaster won't ride correctly.

^also, say your track does a have a 90 degree vertical lift or something, make sure the taper at endpoints are at least 2 above the smooth setting since newton doesn't like extorelitive roll

People like to work in different ways and take different things from NoLimits. Some are trying to acheive high realism, in terms of shaping, forces, pacing etc. this is only really possible to acheive accurately with progs like Newton 2 and the like. Others are going for a more artistic approach and some a stuck in the middle. Handbuilding is definitely more fun for these types of people because it's much easier to acheive what they're after, rather than the high realism, calculated tracks produced by the tools. So it all just depends on what the individual wants to get out of the game!

^^Or just make it 89.95 degrees, which is close enough to feel like vertical but not really vertical.

The best way to find out what you like is to expiriment with the programs. See what fits you.
