Yesterday it was an article in a Swedish Newspaper telling about a launched coaster coming to LiseBerg (sweden) next year. The Ride will be called The Canon and will feature inversions. It will launch at 80kmh and will have a track length at 500meters. The article doesn't say which manufacturer it is, but people have confirmed it to be a Intamin Rocket Coaster.

Sounds pretty cool. Do they know if it is going to be a very simple design? or something all new?

There is also another rocket coaster being built at Six Flags Great Adventure

Yes a friend of mine emails the park and they confirmed the rocket coaster. Nothing else but I would hope it has inversions, Storm Runner is too awesome.

Infact hes Yvgne on those boards LOL

I also know Yngve:) The text says it will feature an inversion. Nothing about which inversions.

This park is right in the middle of Gothenburg, and the whole park is packed with rides. It's incredible that they can fit a new coaster in there. They will use part of the staff area. But it seems like a pretty small coaster. According to the text it will be launched at 80kmh(50mph) with 500m(1500feet)of track. If it's right that is pretty small. But nothing is confirmed. It's not even added at rcdb.com

well TTD is 2800, and Xcellerator is 2500ish, so I am guessing that its going to be a half sized that which means a 185-235 foot top hat coaster.

Well, its hard to say that it will be that high just because of its length.
Its been said not to be just L-TH-B so that right there means it could feature smaller elements for a longer course.

Also, think of this: You need to go at least 60-70mph to go up a 185ft hill. Rides of 180-200ft range from 60-72mph at their drops base. If its only in the 50mph range, its going to be something more like 150-170.

I wouldnt be surprised if its a coaster related to storm runner but shorter, maybe launch loop turnaround snake dive brakes or something like that.

ya but its half the size of Xcellerator (in lenght) and about 2.5 smaller than SR so it cant be long at all, if its related to storm runner which is 3000ish feet in length its going to be real short.

lol, the manufacturer is obviously Intamin AG if its an Intamin Rocket coaster, anyways, sounds awsome.
anways, assuming it will have a top hat, That would leave room for maybe 1-2 inversions, maybe 3 back to back, but I don't know.

Hopefully we may see a new element. That would have been cool. But it will have to be very compact.

It's pretty sure it's an Intamin. They haven't said it in public, but the park has confirmed it will be an intamin Rocket coaster. And it will not be a shuttle coaster. It will have two trains.

here are some sketches of it, its got a top hat, loop, and barrel roll and looks like one heck of a ride. Just imagine how compact it must be, I'm suddenly starting to wish I were going to Sweden in about a year.[:D]

Who knows they might have a slanted launch - ie at an angle of say 30 degrees instead of it being (relatively) flat. That could mean they could go higher and get more speed.

I'm looking forward to riding this coaster next year. They realy packed alot into a small area. This is a perfect addition to the park. They have a great non-inverting steel coaster and a good woodie. What they needed now was a looper.

Edit: Now it's added at rcdb: http://www.rcdb.com/installationdetail2905.htm

It's a great park. It has a great atmosphere. And it's realy nice. But considering it's in the middle of the city I don't think we will see many more coaster's after this one. Actually I was surprised that they could fit a new coaster at all.

Your lucky as far as having this be the next rocket coaster is concerned. And you wouldn't happen to be close to that cool park that is only like 5 acres in Stockholm, Sweden, would you. If you have ever been to it I'd love to know what you thought of it, the Anton and Wild moust intertwined looks awesome.
