...dolphins and bass...

actually what i am expecting in the NL2 update (due to come out after i graduate college (2011ish)), is REALISTIC physics, exact down the to the real thing. a bigger NL arena, and even more detail within the trains, supports, stations, etc. think about it, computers in five years are going to be able to do things we can only think of now. the most update to date computer today, will be obsoleete 5 + years from now.

As the site says:

> Design, programming, graphics and sounds by Ole Lange

It's really a one man project, with others helping out on things. I'm pretty sure NL2 is going to be the same with Ole doing 99% of the engine programming, so yeah a 2 year build doesn't sound unreasonable given a project of this scope.

thats funny seeing as how we know he doesn't do 99% of the work. yes, he does a lot, but there are a few others who share a lot of the workload with him. I'm not sure, but I think it was a one man project when he began with the original, and then later he started working with more people.

^ I think Phyter and Ride_Op do the main bulk of the modeling while Ole's main job is scripting, although Ole did the main bulk of the modeling for those new Shwarzkopf trains. Who knows, anyways, I'm guessing NL 2 will be out in the next 3 - 4 years.[:D]

NL1.6 seems to be most about remoddeling the old trains, and adding a few new styles. But NL 2 will probably focus on the more technical issues. Like a better, more up to date engine, for a start.

NL2 will probably include that as well as more coaster models like the flyer, 4D, Arrow Swinging Caoster, other random designs.

I've been checking http://www.nolimitscoaster.de/progress.htm every 2 days cuz im sooo excited. I luv that they finally have vekoma flyers. I really think it would be cool to have b&m flyers though!!!!

I emailed Ole, he said it would be about a month after the PC version.

I didn't say he does 99% of the work, I said he does 99% of the programming on the engine and most of the editor. It sounds like he might be enlisting more help from his usual contributors for NL2, which is a good thing, building something like this is a monumental task.

I imagine how the water works in NL 2 will be changed differently. Like being allowed to have water at different elevations, and actually have a bottom of the pond, to give the water a more realistic look to it. The cars will have realistic reflections across it. I'm sure the shawdowing engine will be improved as well. And those are all just the graphical things I can think of that he'll more then likely put in NL 2. I'm sure he'll also put in track/support connects for all track styles, as well. What could be in NL 2 is endless.

Since I've spilled the beans elsewhere I guess it's time to tell you guys, there are strong rumors that NL 2 is officially "NoLimits: The Butterfly Dominion". It is essentially a dedicated Butterfly coaster simulator with next generation graphics and physics engine It'll come with over 20 Butterfly variations and ages from brand new to the creaking, shaky "it's gonna kill someone soon" rust covered ones.

And don't worry about networking, it'll have a full dedicated network server mode capable of serving 64 simultaneous Butterfly's with 2 riders each. AND it'll have mod support! So you'll be able to customize your Butterfly experience, not just environment, theming, paint and car models, but engine strength and reliability, gravity settings, friction, weather, even how many coins, on average, the coin-box eats. Expect the "Butterfly on the Moon" mod, "Black Mesa" mod, the "Dust" mod, "Alien vs. Butterfly" etc. etc.

It's just a rumor though, so don't get too excited.

Zazu, you forgot to mention that Quad-Mixed-Multiplayer-Mode (called "4MMM" for short), where two butterfly teams (1 rider & 1 coin-slotter = button-pusher each) may do online technical inspection for the opposite team's ride. With the slightest attempt of cheating (like inserting false coins, fixating start button with toothpicks and alike) or lacking proper ride maintainance (missing early morning checks, rail lubrication & such), the other team may immediately shut done the opponents ride until appropriate action is taken.

That's what multiplayer NL is really about!

Right! Which will seriously impede their hourly capacity and thus their overall coinage AND their position on the National Butterfly Leader-board to be hosted on ButterflyDominion.com.

My team (The Monarch's Minions) are going to dominate! We can lubricate trucks and unjam coin-boxes like true masters!
