Haha well in my ignorance to follow this thread, it seems that Gazag will not be judging Fundament Limits with waves on...Sorry Zan, that doesn't help you becasue it was an incident occurance of waves-off [:(] Sorry about that...a pity, I really liked your track...

Mid-ride launches seem to be very popular in this round.

uh...oh...I think i just screwed myself over...

If you use the autoflanger, and it totally messes up the terrain, are you DQ'ed? I swear to all things holy NOTHING was touching the water before I used the flanger if that helps my cause.

Uh oh. That doesn't sound too good for you Tex. Although, Gazag has been stretching some rules this round...Maybe you'll be let off da hook!

Save the template file as a terrain in the terraformer and then don't import the terrain from the flanged file that got screwed up. Then you can put the track on the old terrain.

Alton, where did I have 1.7 lats? On my sim, when I run it, the most I see is 1.4 in the turn leading to the giant sidewinder...

Might I suggest that DQ's be handed out with descretion? I have a feeling that, like past contests, we won't have everybody turn a ride in. Just a hunch. So it would be better if we let 32 tracks in rather than DQ 20 tracks for minor things.

Or, he follows his own rules for once. Just a thought.

Everyone had the rules listed and in an easily accessible spot, and also had several weeks to check them. Especially these people who are turning rides in early shouldn't be let off IMO, as they generally could've tested some more (or asked someone to test) and submitted a little later. If the rules are ambiguous, then I could see some leniency, but not when they're clear in saying something like the ride must not exceed a certain force vector.

"Max G-forces of
5 positive
1.6 negative
1.5 lateral"

"Any breach of these rules will result in the disqualification of your submission."

An example (sorry that your the emample Gerst, there are definetly more great examples also) ^

Maybe everyone should just chill with the 'official' verdicts though. If there is something really bad like a support through a track or some ridiculous g, then go ahead and post it I guess, but this whole pointing out minor things in the forum is very annoying. I remember this happening last year also. Just let it be. If its breaking the rules it will be disqualified. Stop telling people their tracks are DQ'ed before gazag and company even know what happened.

Yeah, I agree except it's still a competition... announcing your opponent's flaws isn't exactly graceful but it's still a strategy.

The other strategy is not to post the track, but to email it to gazag instead. This keeps it from being available for your competitors to nit-pick over and point out flaws that the official judges might miss.

Once the results are posted for the round, then post it to the exchange and don't worry about what people see.

Drawback to this method: I emailed my track a couple days ago and I haven't showed up on the "submitted tracks" list yet. Hmmmm...

I like how you guys are giving away your "strategies." lol
Ah well, I guess everything will just fall into place and we'll all be happy when it's done. Maybe. I dunno.
Cheers.

(prays for the g-force rules to become guidelines, since I didn't even know that there were separate readings from the two sides of the train...)
