Mine was mid-low spec at when RCT3 was released, and it easily surpasses those requirements... so i'm not sure what you class as "older".

Uh, my computer meets those specs fine, and it's not true that it will run smoothly on those. Those specs only work if you don't plan on having more than one coater longer than 100 feet, or any scenery. Oh yeah, say goodbye to reflective water, hello to very repetitive textures, tonnes of lag, the inability to play any scenarios because they run too slow to bare, among other things. I spent 85 dollars on that game with the game itsef and the expansions because it proclaimed it would work on my PC.
They almost always make the minimum specs for the minimum game experience. This way, more people buy it because they think it will work. Never does though.
That game is a lot of fun if you can get it to work right...
