Sorry if this has already posted, but I just saw that there was an update at nolimitscoaster.de. He's finishing up an update for MAC users to support the latest iMacs and he mentioned that he is working on NL2. This is actually the first I've heard of a sequel. Can someone share any other info you might have about this?

Thanks in advance.
I've been out of the loop lately with No Limits

This will probably be to support the new Intel processors being used in the most recent Macs.

EDIT: Not that, this will be updating the Mac version the GL 1.5 version. Thank you Ole! Hopefully this will help my framerates because currently I can only run at GL 1.1.

Yup, the next Mac update should be out any day now, Ole posted that the Mac update was in beta a week ago, and that it was nearly completed.

He also said he was going to bundle it with other updates for Mac, but decided to hold off that update for another patch.

EDIT: He also said that this new patch will grant a significant performance improvement to all Mac's, whether PPC or x86 architecture. An additional performance boost will be granted to those running ATI hardware on their Mac's as well.

There has been a small update on the developer site. NL 1.5.8 for Mac only is in beta testing now. Should be out in a few days.

That sucks. Why do they get an update and we dont? lol

That sure was fast with the mac side why can't the windows (real computer users) get theirs too?

The update is just going to allow NL to run faster by using Open GL in a better fashion, there aren't any new features besides slight performance improvements and a native NL for the Intel Macs.

What's wrong with Macs getting an update first for a change anyway?

^^Hey, if you even want to get started on this topic, I'm ready. But don't do it on this thread, it is not devoted to Macs vs. PC's.

How did I ever say I wanted to do that? I simply said what's wrong with Mac's getting a patch first for a change.

^The two carrots are meant to show that the comment is directed toward CK. I'm sorry if you felt confronted by my statement.

Why don't you just quote the person to be more proper and avoid confusion ...

Anyways, so much for the update being released the following week, it's nearly three weeks from that "update" and no patch still.

Yay ... huge performance jump.

There is no difference except the ability to use Open GL 1.5 (I don't see the advantage to this at all), and the font used in the simulator is different. There is also the native version for x86 CPU's. Anyway, no big changes at all, all to even out the playing field.

No, we wont'. He said minor update for Mac, not a full fledged one.

He also said not to expect NL2 until 2010 at the earliest, which is 2011 at the earliest in Ole's world.

^ Thats because he doesn't want everyone hyping it all up a year before its ready to be released. 2010 is probably a year or 2 over what will be the actual release date, but this way he can basically work on his own schedule and not feel rushed or anything. Also since he has all those sponsorships from companies like Gravity Group, Vekoma, and Gerstlauer, its probably not as important for him to release a v2 right away..
