Something's odd about those videos. The trimmed one actually looks faster than the non-trimmed one. By quite a bit, in fact. I mean, if you start the trimmed video a half-second after the non-trimmed one reaches the identical point on the track, the trimmed one catches up!

that's a brave thing to say on a site infested with fanboys...

Notice how with the trims, the ride is still exactly as fast as on openingsday. Haters are hating for nothing.

I think it's just the bar not the trims that are in that video, they aren't there yet.

Yeah if you pause it as your just entering the drop you can see that there are no trims as of yet... but i have ridden with and without the trim brakes and let me tell you those trims KILL IT!!! there is floater air on the 2nd hill if you even get it in some spots on the coaster you get absolutely no negative G-Force's on that hill.

no, they're not.

It is just not physically possible that the ride would run it's course faster if it was trimmed all the way down the drop. In those two videos, the one "with" the trims actually runs it's course faster than the other video. That is simply impossible, either the trims are not there, the video is somehow sped up slightly, or they have added tiny launchers to speed the ride up after it's trimmed, which would be pointless and also ridiculous.

Clearly the creator of this video match up, is a fail.

Well....The "faster" one isn't telling the whole story either. It's choppy which could make the camera record it too fast, and I think Robb shoots his videos at lower framerates which can make things look slow. But either way, neither of those videos have trims.

All I can say is... they did the same thing to Raging Bull, and it's still a great ride!

Of course it is! That's why they have to replace the brass every three months.

The trims are not there in the righthand video.

Keep in mind variations in speed are to be expected based on temperature, how long the ride has been running, rider mass, and other conditions.

Extraxyz the POV you posted has the structure that holds the fins, the fins weren't installed at the time of recording. HERE are videos of the ride trimmed:

Yeah, those are both fairly depressing...I'll still just hope that they're messing around to find what works best (even though I doubt I'll ever ride it anyway)

Why, WHY the hell did they do that? I'm so stoked that I got to ride it before this, and I'm probably never going to get back there again, but it really was not SO intense that this was needed. What a waste of a great ride.

Keep in mind to some of the peeps in here they're still tinkering and they're trimming it because the wheels are being worn out..

Does anyone know which wheels are burning out? Running, Guide or Up-Stop?

Yeah they effectively took a 300' ride and gave it maybe 220' (max) worth of speed. Lame.

Isn't putting that insane lift hill speed down a much better option than those trims? It looks like those trims kill at least like 15-20km/u. If you'll turn that insane lift hill speed down with about 5km/u down. I'm sure that would end up with a speed difference of about 6-7km/u through out that cource. Killing less quick wheels and still providing a great ride experience to everyone [:)]
