Well, it's finally that time of year again... exams are over, I'm finally taking time to breathe, and I can come out of hibernation because it's warm again. That can only mean one thing... time for my employment at Cedar Point to begin. I'm packing up and heading out tomorrow, to begin a period of servitude to the guests that will last from May 6 until August 16. Well, okay, I'm just joking about the 'servitude' thing. I'm actually really looking forward to it, because I have had almost zero human interaction over the last few months. And nothing beats chatting to hundreds of random people every day. Plus, I'll finally be getting away from my parents...

Anyway, on my first day off I'm going to go and ride everything and post a park review to update everyone on how the coasters are running, and give an opinion on Skyhawk. Plus, I'll be sure to slip over to the 2007 construction area with my camera. I drove around there today, and the footers are going up everywhere!

And if anyone wants to stop in and say 'hi' to me, look for "Charlie" at 'Pretzel Gourmet' or the nacho stand next to it, located right in the middle of the park next to the skyride's north station.

I love those pretzels...

Be sure if you get a day off to let people know. Sometimes, at least myself, can come up and we can spend a night riding stuff. I still gotta get my season pass...lol

Hopefully I can get the day for the WWS meet up off, or at least the day were all going to Geuaga Lake, we shall see.

As soon as I start work, the first thing I'll be doing is requesting June 2nd and June 7th as my days off for those weeks, so that I can go to the park meet-ups. Our stand isn't exactly under-staffed, so it shouldn't be too hard.

Anyone else working at an amusement park this summer? You've gotta love the perks...

Ahhh ... have fun. Wish I could get up there this year, but it doesn't look promising, since I was just up there two summers ago. Maybe if they build another coaster this year or the following ... it could be a roadtrip for senior year [:D]

^Oh, yeah, they're building one for next year... that's almost a certainty based on how huge the ride construction area is (the pictures don't give it justice... that space is gigantic!) and the fact that almost the whole thing is covered in footers.

They're pretty big... but they're definitely not as big as Wicked Twister's footers. My best guess is that they are B&M footers. Intamin is also a possibility. What I know for sure is that they are definitely not the footers of a wood coaster. The footers have no steel, so that rules out Gravity Group, and they are too big and square to be a GCI. So, no woodies this year. Too bad.

Damn it, i was hoping for a woody. Maybe a B+m floorless, seems the only 'big'thing they dont have, and a sit down is out of the equation. If they make it unique, im sure it will have Scream covered over at Magic Mountain. I love theme parks when they compete, it gets all firey[:)].

Good news, everyone. I was lucky enough to get one of the only rooms with internet access. It's not because there is a phone jack in the room, like I originally planned, because none of the employee rooms on the entire site have phone lines that are legal for dial-up. However, in a random twist of fate, I happened to end up in one of the three closest rooms to the employee rec center. And since the rec center has wireless, I'm able to connect from my room. So, this means that I get to have great high-speed internet right from my room, and I get to retain my contest-judging and coaster-building duties un-interrupted. Awesome! I'm such a lucky bastard...

Judging by the pictures taken, it wont be a B&M.

Unless theyve changed the way their tracks connect to their supports, by means of SQUARE plates and not round (like intamin) Its either an Intamin or Arrow/S&S.

Notice the round connector:

Im pretty sure no B&M's feature that. Not even to the base of a footer.

Um...wtf?

Some of the pictures that Hyde posted on the second link resemble Tatsu's footers, or so he and the pictures say. I've never believed the flyer or "deuling flyer" idea, but I guess it is all possible. We'll just wait and see.

But the "track" that appears to be beneath the tarp is NOT that of B&M at all. The connector is a dead giveaway since all, and Im fairly sure all B&M connectors are square - not round. Intamins are round. Arrow/S&S are round.

Real, I am still not quite sure what you mean by connectors. Would they be something I find in any of these two pictures?

Nope. Those are support to support.

Whats under that tarp is most likly the track itself.
Which, look at the connector from the track to support. Its square.

Unless thats one VERY odd support under there, I really think its track.

They have done this with every ride installed in the last 3-4 installations. Track always got there first.
