What is a better place to go for a Vacation? Cedar Point, or BGT and other parks in Florida? In May. When Sheikra opens and CP opens for the season.

Ive only been to Florida so thats the only place i can recommend! If you go there, your going to need a pile of cash to see all those theme parks. My wallet is still recovering!

I said Ohio, just because Cedar point, PKI, and gaeuge lake there too. I'm going there in the summer, so I would recommend going there.

I have only been to Florida, did all the parks in 2 weeks, but since i am from the UK, its not expansive over in orlando, esecially when you go shopping.
A pair of Vans skateboarding shoes here cost you about ?????????80 and i got them for about ?????????20 over there, and if you buy a pair, i got another pair half price, so i got sandles for about $5.

Anyway back on topic, i really want to go to CP but cant cause i am only 12 years. Go when im older, maybe 15 with parents or something.

Yeah right lol.. And they also just raised the admission prices at alot of the parks in Florida...[:(!]

But to make your decision on whether to goto Florida or Ohio I think you should look at what parks you would be able to visit.
If you goto Ohio, you can visit Paramount King's Island (Italian Job coaster), Cedar Point, Gueaga Lake..yeah I'm sure I goofed on that name lol and a few other small parks.
On the other hand if you goto Florida you woul dhave Univeral, Disney and BGT as the main parks...

So, in the end IMO, if you could get to PKI, CP and GL in Ohio I would suggest going to Ohio rather than Florida

Florida, weather is freaking awesome there. Its really hot during the day, then you get some awesome storms at night, not to mention crocodile wrestling and what not. Sure Cedar Point would be great, but everything is close to each other at Florida, plus Sheikra is opening this year

d'oh! Taiwan! I've been away from my computer too long. The lack of video games and coaster making is driving me to forget all of my coaster facts.

Ohio for sure. Why? CP, Geauga, PKI. Then, the same distance from me as PKI is Michigans Adventure (home of Shivering Timbers) and then 4 hours to the east is Indiana Beach (Home to 3 awesome CCI's) then 3 hours southeast is Kennywood.

Ohio is pretty central. In Florida, you only have 3 good parks (counting all Disney as 1) and one way out and the only closest park with anything good is Six Flags Over Georgia.

However, if you want a place to spend with a signigicant other and Rollercoasters are not the main objective, Florida is much better. Theres not much romantic or pretty up here except for a few select places.

I agree, the theme parks are all in orlando, so then you can go down to the beaches then.

Florida parks are within 1 or 2 hours of eachother. They are open year-round and have some of the best theming in the world. PKI is over 200 miles away from Cedar Point! I think Florida is a better choice between weather and all. But Cedar Point is probably the best. Some of PKI's rides like Vortex and Son of Beast are really rough I've heard. So I'd say Florida! And there are over 6 parks in Florida with Disney and all and 3 in Ohio.

CP to PKI = 3 hours drive, thats NOTHING! Trust me. During the fall I drove 4 hours round trip once every week, it was nothing. And two times I drove 8 hours in one day to amusement parks and it turned out they each held AMAZING rides, in fact, they now take up my #1 and #2 spots :D

Dont make me dig up the coaster count for Ohio vs Florida though ;)

Florida has the best water rides and some of the best coasters (Dueling Dragons, Hulk, Kumba (the first original b&m and Sheikra is opening this year. Im sure it'll be better than Italian Job Stunt Track. Florida is also a way prettier state and there is way more to do in Florida besides rollercoasters. Florida in general kicks the hell outta ohio.

However, Florida has very little variety. The parks have great themeing but lack the variety of such states as Ohio and California. Ohio has some awesome woodies, great B&M's(@ CP), and the rides in Ohio have much more historical value than those in Florida, incl. SoB, Blue Streak, and many others. Same goes with the parks in California. They have a great combination of woodies, Beemers, and some original rides as well such as X. The California rids have much more history than those in Florida as well IMO. At SFMM aline there is X(First 4-D), Collussus(Tallest Woodie when built), Riddlers (Most Inversions on a Stand-Up), Revolution(First looping coaster), and Psyclone (Only woodie w/ Beemer trains)that all hold a place in coaster history. There are also many small piers/ individually owned parks that flaunt great rides and a great park environment in California. Florida lacks most of these features, IMO the only thing that Florida would be worthwhile for goint to on a coaster trip is if you enjoy elaborate themeing and don't wish to ride coasters as much as see the sights so to speak. Florida is a great vacation destination, but Cali and Ohio are much better for coasters IMO.
