What parks were you excited to visit beforehand, but became a letdown once you were there?

Carowinds was a little underwhelming for me. While Fury 325 is the best coaster I've ever ridden and Afterburn is one of the better inverts out there, I didn't care much for the rest of their coaster lineup (Intimidator is okay but definitely the weakest B&M I've ridden). The park's environment also felt very generic and soulless. Don't get me wrong, it's a fun park for sure, but without Fury, it might not have been worth the trip.

Kings Island easily.

Only perfect thing there is Banshee.

Diamondback is easily the weakest of the B&M hypers.
Beast is awful.
Vortex is awesome, but hard to ride multiple times.
Bat is eh.

No other ride there is worth mentioning.

Kentucky Kingdom is close, but being able to marathon Storm Chaser and Lightning Run plus free soft drinks more than makes it worthwhile!
Oh, were you expecting something here?

SFA. Found my least favorite steel coaster there, many of the coasters weren't running, and the coasters that were there were pretty disappointing.

^ wut. HW has like the perfect Wooden coaster lineup.

Mine would have to be SFGAdv. My favorite ride when I went there was GASM, then they tore it down the next year. The park just had that awful "Six Flags" feel of concrete with rides on it, which I thought SFNE sufffered from but it didn't even toich it to the level of GAdv. To be fair Nitro and El Toro were both running slower than usual I think.
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

The only worthwhile rides are Superman, the flying ride (maybe), and Wild One lol.

Wild One was down, Superman was pretty good, and Batwing was fine but you can find it in a few other parks that aren't too far away.

King's Island.

Banshee is good. Diamondback is fun. The Beast...I don't understand. I'm sure it was awesone when it first opened, but I just feel it's really really slow paced. Everything else is just meh.

Beast is absolute trash ever since they neutered it with the magnetic trims, the skids that preceded them were alright. Anyone who tells you otherwise is deluded. I rode Beast literally the day after being at HW and every single wooden coaster there absolutely destroys Beast in terms of forces, pacing, and use of terrain and other surroundings. Anyone who points to the helix as being even remotely intense needs to take a ride on Legend and see how a great woden coaster handles the element.

Six Flags Great America was probably the most disappointing park I've visited. It's not so much the physical park (which is mostly nice, though it is lacking a truly standout steel coaster) but more the way it is run. In 2014, I visited for an evening and the entire following day, and due to horrible operations that still was not enough time to do everything. Regular lines were 45-90 minutes for EVERY coaster (with most being 60-75 minutes), and even with a Flash Pass I still had to wait 30-45 minutes at each attraction due to dispatch times. The worst offender was Viper, which averaged one train every 7 minutes, but Demon, Raging Bull, Whizzer, and X-Flight also had excessively long (4+ minute) dispatch times. To be fair, I did manage to get on all the major coasters with a couple re-rides and I did leave the park for dinner (though that was because the line for lunch took 30 minutes with only two parties in front of me), but I had very little time to check out any non-coaster rides and did miss the non-Flash Pass coasters (except American Eagle, which I was able to skip the line for via an exit pass due to getting stuck on Demon for 30 minutes). Perhaps I hit the park on a bad day, or perhaps it has improved since then, but until they add a notable new coaster I'm not likely to plan another trip to find out.

For most overrated park, I'd probably say Six Flags Great Adventure. Don't get me wrong, I do like the park, but I sometimes hear people say that this park doesn't feel at all like a Six Flags park and that everything is much better here. To me, however, it felt like SFMM east with a slightly better top three, slightly better operations, and only a couple noteworthy non-coaster rides. It is a very good Six Flags park, but it is still a Six Flags park and many of the chain-wide problems are just as evident here as they are elsewhere.
Coaster Count: 535 (114 wood, 444 steel); Park Count: 110
Top 5 Wood: El Toro, Voyage, Thunderhead, Outlaw Run, Boulder Dash
Top 5 Steel: Superman the Ride, Fury 325, Millennium Force, X2, Intimidator 305
