ok, last night's basketball game was a game dominated by the Pacers. With 45 seconds left Artest (the "bad boy of b-ball") fouled B. Wallace hard. Wallace came back with a hard shove to the face. Both benches cleared. The Artest was laying on the scores table, when a fan threw a beer and hit Artest right in teh chin. Artest RAN into the stands and socked some guy. Turns out it wasn't even the guy that threw it at him. Ok well eventually JAckson ended up in the stands and socked someone else. Then some huge guy socks Fred Jones in the head. Ok all this contines on and on. Then they get Artest and everyone out of the stands. While on the court there getting pelted with trash, and some fans run on the court and start fighting the players. Chairs are thrown and all that stuff. Then when the player get off the field they are pelted with beer, popcorn, poles, everything.

Man, that was completely unprofessional and I could not believe it even happened. IMO, that was the low point of the NBA - watch ESPN today, it is all they are talking about.

im not a huge fan of the NBA anyway, i just watch my sixers but playoff time i rarley watch. I still strongly believe Artest shouldn't of charged the croud, but i dont blame him for doing it, i mean he's Ron Artest. He throws TV's all the time, what's new

this man can tell his friends about how he was attacked by NBA stars! What fun!
And I look at this, and I think the fans are as much as fault as the players. Stupid people[:(!]

The fans did have alot involved, but the players are supposed to be professional and not do that stuff, the fans will be arrested, the players will be suspended. The innocent fans will become millionares after winning lawsuits agganst the NBA (that guy Artest first socked didn't even do anything, he'll be rich). It's not quite a basketbrawl when fans are socking players ether in my mind, there are fights in basketball (preseason bulls vs wizards game). Since there is no Hockey, they have to have fights in basketball or people will go crazy

I saw that one ... he got completely clocked, TWICE, by two different players and I never saw him throw a single punch. Yup, I would be making those thugs PAY ME .... BIG TIME.

it was 45.9 seconds on the clock, so the game forfeited?

the refs just called the game over, like when a baseball game ends in the 7th inning because of rain delay. The Pacers still won, with the point difference the game was over anyway. That's why Wallace was real p!$$ed over the hard foul, the game was over

Of course all of the PLAYERS who were involved should be punished quite heavily, and with indefinite suspensions for Wallace, Jackson, O'Neal, and Artest, they should be out for a while, I'm quite disgusted with the fans. ANY fan who comes out onto the court/field should be arrested or in the very least thrown out of the game. It's not the players who instigated this giant brawl, because the initial fight was settling down when Artest got hit with the cup, causing everyone to go off...

The guy who got jacked in the face by Artest and O'Neal just shouldn't have been on the court. It was his own stupidity that got him a few shots to the head...

here's all i believe on the suspentions

Wallace-for the original on court fight, probibally only a game or 2
O'Neil-Socking the guy on the court, 2-4 games
Jackson-Following Artest into the croud, 2-4 games
Artest-For going into the crowd in the first place, even tho i would of done the same thing, he is a professional and should not of done it. 8-10 games and a heafty 6 digit fine (im sure everyone will be suing the NBA because of him)

^that's just my own opinion. That was a good punch by O'Neil on that Pistons fan, that was sweet while he slipped on the beer [:P]

Here's what I read from ESPN Website. You may read this story by clicking here. The first paragraph of this article shown below.

NEW YORK --Indiana's Ron Artest, Jermaine O'Neal and Stephen Jackson, and Detroit's Ben Wallace were suspended indefinitely by the NBA on Saturday for taking part in one of the ugliest brawls in U.S. sports history, a fight with fans that commissioner David Stern called "shocking, repulsive and inexcusable."

Yeah, that's where I got my information on it...ESPN.

And Wallace is probably the only one who deserves a lesser suspension, because these fights do happen, and you don't get suspended INDEFINITELY for shoving a guy. But for all the Pacers, they should be suspended through January as far as I'm concerned...

to me, Running into the stands and socking someone is worse then the intentinal high stick/slashing Bertuzzi did which costed him the whole year. Artest i believe should lose the rest of the year, but i hate him alot already to. O'neil was the stupid one, nailing someone when alot of it was over. Jackson deserves the same as O'neil, and Artest deserves alot more. As i said before, as a professional you should not leave the court, your just another person off court with a jersey on, and they should recieve Assault charges, especally Artest. The thing is ugly for the NBA, but i still find it humorus to watch.

So, wouldn't that mean it could use "any" version of Windows Media Player? [;)]
LOL .... anyway, ESPN is showing it about every 30 mins now, lots of interviews and rehashing ... glad the networks are not replaying it this much.

yep, artest is out now (sucks for us pacer fans [:(]). the rest of the season seems way too harsh! those fans sure were stupid; i would NEVER make a guy like artest mad: they had it coming. but what really makes no sense is ben wallace only getting 6 games off while the pacer's get hammered (JO is out for 25!!!) oh, well. they had a good shot at doing well this year too

The union is protesting the suspentions, but they should stick IMO.

All of their punishments are 100 percent deserved, no matter what the fans are doing the players are the ones putting on the show, and they must be responsible for themselves. Artest has had numerous anger issues, and he had this coming, the Pacers should have helped him with his anger management issues earlier, as everyone knew something like this would happen eventually. Wallace should only get about 6 games as he merely pushed Artest, which is usually treated with a one or two game suspension. In this case, 6 days sounds about right. IMO, the only suspension that is mistaken is Jackson's, he should be getting at least 50 days or so as opposed to 30, he thre the 2 hardest punches and did so with no reason, at least Artest had a reason to fight with the fans. This is all just a very unfortunate event for the NBA, and hopefully the prompt and appropriate action taken by Stern will prevent this from ever occuring in the future.
