Plane Almost Hits Kingda Ka 8/1/15 SFGADV

Well, close call here but someone got a few photos of a plane almost hitting Kingda Ka earlier today. The plane was flying low enough to the point where people in the parking lot stopped walking to look at it. Luckily, the plane diverted away at the last second.

But what if it hadn't diverted away? What if it had hit Kingda Ka? How bad do you think it could have been? Would Great Adventure lose their superstar coaster?

Take a look at the photo, notice that the Zumanjaro gondolas are going down, imagine you were on the ride right before that photo. OMFG lol.

Curious how high the plane was. Whoa, freakin' close to a tower part! Was that at a flyable height or not? What plane type did they say saw?

That's a giant plane probably going to McGuire nearby. Planes like that are flying low over the park all the time. Definitely don't think the one pictured is at all out of the ordinary. The perspective makes it look like it's going toward or just past Kingda Ka, but that size plane would look WAY bigger if it was actually close to the coaster.

wouldn't have been a big lose seeing as it isnt the fastest and soon to to be de thrown as the highest too... and it probably would have destroyed kk and the area around it and lots of people would have either died or been hurt.

That's a C-5 Galaxy....they're massive. It's miles away, and at several thousand feet in altitude.

Yeah there is no context or scaling in the photos, and they look like blurry poop iPhone pictures.

You can make out the 4 engines so it's got to be a large plane. It'll be nowhere near the coaster, just perspective

If that plane was anywhere near Ka its wingspan would be wider than the tower lol.

lol, just the width of the tower is an understatement. Its wingspan is about half the height of the tower. Definitely not a small plane or a near miss lol.

It's definitely just perspective. Great Adventure's on McGuire's approach path so you see big military planes flying over it all the time, but even so they will always be over 1000 feet up. Planes aren't even allowed to fly under 500 feet in normal circumstances, except right after takeoff and during final landing approach.

Wow, you guys wouldn't last a minute at Kentucky Kingdom. SDF is right across the street, so planes are basically landing on the place all day.

Its absolutely nowhere near it, this has to be the biggest non-event, not even news story of the year so far. Like, the fact that this is a news story is a bigger deal that the actual contents of the news story.
