August 12th 2010 - Plopsaland De Panne

Today was a visit for me an a couple fellow coastergeeks to visit Plopsaland De Panne. It was a total new park for us and it has 7 coasters for us to ride. Some layouts and types new to us, some already seen before at different parks.
After a 3,5 hour drive to the park we got there before it opened. Great since we have a busy schedule in the park!

Image
The entrance of the park

Image
Yeah, there is the big coaster from the park. But we aren't going to head there as first. There is an extremely low capacity ride in the park that we are going to ride as first.

Image
The main square was pretty nice themed.

Image
Everyone was being stopped at the passages into the rest of the park. It was still 9:55 so the rides aren't opened yet.

Image
In the meantime the crowd is becoming bigger and bigger.

Image
10am! Big dash to the low capacity ride, me and my buddy were there as first!

Tech off-ride and Onride Video

437: Vleermuis - Right Track
My first single rail rollercoaster and it's a fun one. Even tho it's pretty short, it still has a some sort of race feeling to the ride. Too bad the these rides have such a low capacity. Because of that is the regular queuing time about 1 to 1,5 hours on average!

Image
Yes, this is what we took the dash for!

Image
It has 2 tracks, which means. We gotta queue again for the 2nd track!

Image
We had the first ride on this coaster. After that ride we have to wait 45(!) minutes for our second ride! That's how quick the queue time goes up. Oh well, Now we have some good time to take pictures of the ride.

Image
People going up!

Image
Whee!

Image
The weird cars.

Image
More people going around the course. Here you also can see why it's such a low capacity. Only one adult goes around the course, there are only 3 cars on each track. One loading, one unloading, the 3rd one is going around the course.

Image
My turn again!

Image
And this is what we are doing it for... A chuffin' figure 8 layout! [lol]

438: Vleermuis - Left track
The other ride from this coaster, it's an identical layout to the other side of the track but we still rode it for the credit. This lap showed to me again that these coasters have a really high fun factor, too bad they're just too short.

Image
On to the next coaster. Nice theming again!

Image
I think it's that way for the coaster.

Image
It looks like we found it, this time we've got a mack powered.

[youtube]Du8Xgtstqkk[/youtube]
And it's tunnel tested as any other powered! [lol]

439: Draak (Dutch for Dragon)
This was a really fun powered coaster! It usually goes twice around the course, except when it's really crowded. At the end of the day the crowd left so there was barely a queueline at this coaster. The ride-opp tho, still was forced to ride one lap. But he had a good solution to that:
Send the train around the course, after the lap it automatically stops again. Keep the restraints closed and have some fun with the guests! Letting them cheer on command and when it was good enough for him. He send them again around the course, but not before he Hi-fived everyone during the departing in the station! [lol] He was one of the most awesome operators out there who made it fun for the guests!

Hmmm... Where was I? Oh yeah! We went to the 4th coaster credit in the park!

Image
Yes, a Vekoma Kiddie coaster straight from the catalog.

Image
The powered went past the other side of the queueline.

Image
Lots of tires!

Image
Through the first helix

Image
Ohh... I spy a bigger coaster in the distance. A bit more patience, on the path to towards this coaster we have some other coasters!

Image
Everyone is enjoying their ride.

Image
Going up!

440: Rollerskater
Woohoo, a Vekoma catalog coaster as my 440th! [lol] Really fun coasters, too bad this one only went one lap. But that was expected with the enormous queueline it had.

Image
Zierer Jetski's! Cool! We rode these later on the day.

Image
Oh, did I mention this coaster went through a huge Washing Machine? [:D]

Image
One again, the theming is extremely well done in this park.

Image
The next coaster for us! Can you guess the coaster type? Yes! It's a Zierer Tivoli Large!

Image
Long queueline again! Apparently it was crowded today.
Oh and that group of yellow vests was apparently from a holiday group that takes kids on holiday. The group was called: Top Holidays. Yeah wow, it really would be a top holiday wearing a yellow vest all day, being forces in a group, walking hand in hand as a chain around the park. I would never send my kid on a holiday like that...

Image
The park also had a starflyer, but the queue was just too long. So we decided to leave this ride for what it is.

Image
Testing out my panorama photo option from my phone. Cool!

Image
Yay! A supersplash! We'll deal with you later!

Image

Image
The train going around the course.

Image
Now it's our turn! Woohoo!

Image
Hey look! Nice view!

Image
This is sooo NOT tunnel tested! [lol]

Image
And what other parks have the exit in such way that you can touch the coaster track? [lol]

441: Dongo's Race
Another one for the list. These rides are just too much fun in the backseat. The front is already at the bottom before the back goes over the top of the lift, which causes some good laterals going down. [:)]

Image
Awww... Some ducks around the park.

Image
Hi there! It took us about 2 hours, but there we are!

Image
Yes! It's still running! Let's go!

Image
Yaay.... Another huge queueline... Oh well.

Image
Almost there!

Image
Cool stuff, unlike one floor below. We have something to watch here. [:D]

Image
Notes: "Whole season long there hasn't been any work on the bushes. Urgent!"
When we read that we had the idea that we'd might have a chance to cut those bushes manually. [:D]

Image
After our ride, extremely satisfied!

Image
"Don't shoot me!" Too late! [lol]

442: Anubis - The Ride
Wow, what a ride. This was a really good ride with tons of cool forces. The Launch was quick, top hat provided some really nice forces. An insanely quick dive loop followed. Some weird top hat alike element again that provided some unexpected laterals, but nothing in the uncomfortable sector. Immelmann and onto the MCBR, drop of the mcbr, cool transition. Really low turn and then an upward heartline roll. From a lot angles this element looks weird but it rides with no single awkward feeling.
Overall, an adrenaline filled ride with tons good moments in all different types of forces. From Negative to positive and even some fun laterals in the equation!

Some offride Footage and a Front Row onride

Image
This coaster is also beautiful to take photo's from.

Image

Image
Through the bushes!

Image
Into the upward Heartline Roll.

Image
A new car going up the top hat.

Image

Image

Image
Down into the Dive Loop!

Image
Upward Heartline Roll

Image
In the meantime, we entered the long queue from the supersplash.

Image
Big tower is big!

Image
More nice shots from Anubis

Image

Image
And there is already a photo from the supersplash after our ride!

443: Supersplash
This ride is seriously nothing more than just a big drop. Just when you leave the station you'll enter the vertical lift in the tower. After going up, you're being pushed down with the voice: "Schip Ahoy, Piraatjes!" (Ship Ahoy, Pirates!). A nice splash and then it's sailing back to the station... [lol]

Image
Well, enough other guests are enjoying the ride.

Image
Even tho I'm more interested in that other ride in the distance. [:D]

Image
Splash!

We've done our lap through the thrilling area of the park. We headed over for some food near the Single Rail Rollercoaster. After that, we checked the kiddy area. Apparently there was a darkride that had to be seen... [lol]

Image
But first this really nice shot.

Image
Oh poop... That's a long line!

Image
Whoa, even a long line to get out the ride! Come on ride ops... Work your asses off!

Image
And what do we find inside? A lot of gnomes!

Image
And they are playing peek-a-boo with you at the start of the ride!

Image
Soo many!

Image

Image
They should hold a contest... Who can count them all.

Image

Image
And there starts the queueline to exit this ride! [lol]

Image

Image
Tailgating at it's finest

Image
Back to some more thrills

Image
A car flying over the top

Image
The Zierer Tivoli Large

Image

Image
I can also take pictures from other things than coasters. [:D]

Image
We took a walk to one of the train stations, just to take a nice tour around the park. On the way we walked past the log flume, which was closed all day due a wrong water filter.

Image
The train isn't tunneltested either [lol]

Image
Some nice views on the powered.

Next station we waited a pretty long time. The staff operating the train was selling bags of corn for 4 euro's a bag. We wondered why the hell he would do that... But when we went departed again we found out quick enough.

Image
The train literally went through the areas with animals and stopped for a while to feed the animals.

Image
Look! TPR is present too! [lol]

Image
There were also a bunch of goats

Image

Image
Look! A Wild coaster! Much more interesting [:D]

Image
Hehe, next to the launch. Cool!

Image
Some nice view from the back side

Image
I love the shaping

Image
A view from the last turn before the roll.

Image
Time for some onrides!

Image
The launch always surprises me, I'd always expect it to launch a lot sooner than it actually happens.

Image
A beautiful view from the top.

Image
Flying through the roll again.

Image
A view backwards on the final brakes.

Image
I have the strange feeling the painting is watching us in the Anubis Queue...

[youtube]seEnnWP8rVA[/youtube]
More on and offride footage. This time the onride video taken from the backseat.

Image
More supersplash

Image
A lot of people enjoying the single big drop :P

Image
Yay! More sweet coaster [lol]

Image
Supersplash. Into the bushes!

Image
The park was opened longer because it was really crowded, so we took the time to ride the Zierer Jetski's

Image
It's Mega Mindy... With a steel bar stuck in her crotch... [lol]

Image
Oh poop. They have a water gun at the side of the ride!

Image
Uh oh... Someone broke it, the jetski didn't return to the center. So someone punished her by soaking her. [lol]

Image
Muahahaha! [lol]

Image
Wow, the park is pretty evil on prices! Do the math, up to the 20 eurocent you're being cheaper than 50 eurocents and up! [lol]

Image
Sweet theming

Image
Dragon passing by and asking if we wanted to ride along. Sure!

Image
Those hills look a lot of fun but the speed was too low to my opinion.

Image
Well there is your problem! [lol]

Image
Sweet view on the operator panel.

Image
Launch!

Image
Top of the top hat

Image
The quick dive loop

Image
The sweet exit of the immelmann

We had the last rides of the day after this we had a nice talk with one of the operators. He told us we had a very crowded day today. More crowded than an average day in August. After some more chatting he asked us if we wanted to join him on the search to lost objects UNDER the coaster. Sure! We took a nice collection of photo's. I've sorted out a couple of them and those will be visible for the premium members under us.
Altho, I've got one that i'll share with you guys:
Image
Our group photo! [:)]

Image
After this cool extra we left the park

Image
The door was nicely lighted

Image
Looks like a sweet storm is coming up.

Image
And 5 minutes later, all hell breaks loose with intense rain and sudden lightning storm! Awesome!

We had a great time in this park and it really surprised us. Especially with some of the awesome staff in the park. I will definitely return to this park. Great theming around the park, awesome staff and one really awesome ride.

The heartline roll does not look like the one on BF, at all. It's very floating, I guess BF's one is more "ejector". In Anubis' one you're just flying, floating in your seat, that's a nice sensation.
Thanks for your TR, you were lucky that the storm didn't come when you were in the park !

Yup, it's not an ejector like Blue Fire, but nice and floater like any other Heartline Roll. [:)]

Of course. The GP sees any launched coaster identical to eachother. I've heard people claiming Kingda Ka was the same as Xpress @ Walibi World. Only a bit faster. [lol]

Suck up. What favor do you want him to do for you?

Never put "Draak" and "off" right next to each other ever again. [lol]
