It is actually down in the manual as a Pick up truck, with a 14ft flatbed.

Gazag, thats a purty Jag. I'm actually a fan of their newer models; I hate the looks of a lot of their older models. XF is probably the best looking besides the XJ. It sounds like you got a loaded trim, besides that V6 under the hood. Is that 0-60 time right for the V6?

Wrong again, Ford Transits are made by Ford of Europe (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Europe), which is essentially a separate European company, under the name of their American counterparts. If Ford was simply an American company, and just American, do you think we'd be driving cars like the Focus? Or the Fiesta? No, these are European cars/vehicles, designed, manufactured and assembled in Europe (In fact, look at the above Wikipedia link, scroll to near the bottom and you'll see that the Transit is actually made in ENGLAND, entirely nullifying your point [lol]). Increasingly now, Ford Motor Company looks to Ford of Europe for it's worldwide cars/vehicles as they realise that Ford of Europe is producing Ford's best poop [lol]

tl;dr Ford, to me and you, is a German company.

Ford Transits come in a multitude of different types, ranging from vans of different sizes and specs, all the way through to TRUCKS like the one I drive.

Just to help make it more obvious:

The manuals are written in America? the fudge are you talking about? [lol]

Why would the manuals be written in America? That would be utterly ridiculous.

Car - small enclosed storage
Van - medium enclosed storage
Truck - large open storage
Lorry - very large open or closed storage

[lol] joker. Passenger compartment up front, flat open storage area out back, all on one chassie = truck.

Desist your trolling.

check with ford matey, they are all written in america. i found this out a while ago in a ford showroom while i was on work experience.

car - whats a convertable car then a small truck
van what about the very very big merc vans? they are enclosed and still are vans and are way way bigger than your VAN

truck- yes they are large but yours isnt, its a van on a van chassie with a van cab with a flat bed

lorry- big articulated thing or even a big single chassie with more than 7 gears.

face facts gouldy, your a dirty dirty white van man

Would a lorry be the equivalent of a semi-trailer truck?

^ Yeah, two separate chassis. 18-wheelers, big rig, 40 tonners etc...

Gaz, how would my description lead you to believe a convertable is a truck? The passenger compartment is the thing that is open on a convertable, not the storage.

Also, the Merc Sprinters are not bigger than what I drive, that would be impossible and against the law, given that the long wheel base Transit Flat Bed Truck is the widest and longest goods vehicle you can legally drive on British roads, without needing a special license, like a HGV license or bus license etc.

Either way, I drive what is called a Ford Transit Truck, whether you think that's what it is called or not; that's what it is sold as, what it is called in the manual and what all of the info I can find on the net about it also calls it. It's a truck, Gaz, you couldn't possibly think any differently unless you're just trolling, which I hope for your sake, you are. [lol]

transit = van and allways will be, so your saying then if i cut the back off of my van and left just the bed it would be a truck?

the sprinter is a van even the flatbed version but it wasent the sprinter i was talking about, it was the vario
Image

they are huge and you can buy them with a flat bed, so what your saying even though though its exactally the same chassie, same cab, same engine ect but it hasent got the pannel sideds it makes it a truck? sorry i very much dissagree with that statement

and yes im trolling abit but i also think this needs sorting as i know im right[:D]

and also looking though the ford uk website they actually call your van a "drop side van"
