Hey, i just started on a new coaster and so far i love it. Its a floorless coaster, but its going to have some elements from hyper coasters and woodies. [:D] So all in all, its gonna try and be like one of my dream coasters.

http://nldc.interfix.net/p1010

heres some pics so far. The start of the ride up to the lift hill will hopefully be inside a building when finished. [:)]

The start is like the normal looper type bit, but there are laterals. I dont care what anyone says, "it will wreck the ride", "it would make it uncomfortable", the ultimate at lightwater valley is one of the fiercest most awesome coasters ive ever been on, and its a steel with lots of lats. [^]YUM. So really im making this coaster for me, but im gonna share it too. It wont be that great but i like it alot so far. The drop after the lift hill is really hyper coaster like, and it gives -0.8 sustained in the back seat. [:D] And then 4.8g at the bottom of the drop.

It'll probably have elements like those on a woodie. I'm thinking a trick track and maybe some fan curves.

I think this coaster should be a stand up, now that would be FUN!

Looks pretty cool! I think a floorless with some hyper elements could rock.

It was a stand up to start with, but i didnt like the way the ride felt in the sim with stand up trains. The ride feels slower, and anyone who knows me, knows that i love my nolimits rides to FEEL fast. They dont have to BE fast, they need to feel it though, otherwise thats part of your adrenaline gone. I love pacing a coaster, and thats one of the things im best at (im crap at technical [V][lol]) so the stand up was a no no. I would have had to make this ride much taller, for it to feel right for me, and then i would have gone over the G boundaries ive set myself:
5.5 positive g
-1.5 negative
1.7+/- lateral <<<< Thats where the woody part comes in. [:D]

I enjoy steelies with laterals. As i have said before, i love the Ultimate at Lightwater valley, as it shakes you around and fires you from side to side at such a force its astonishing. Its painful (and it smashed my camera) BUT extremely thrilling. [:D] Im making this ride so its a blend of each a hyper (with the large drops and airtime, and an overbank turn maybe), the floorless (with the huge inversions one after another), and a woodie (with the out of control, violent, panic filled, fast paced journey, with laterals and ejector airtime!) [:D] YUM. Who cares if it would be slightly uncomfortable in real life, this is nolimits, i can do what the hell i like. [:D]

Anyone have an idea what the ride could do after the first drop. I did have a large turn around, with a drop and a left turn into a 150 foot loop. But this was boring IMO, it felt too spread out. Anyone like the idea of a minature top hat? Just wondering. [:p]I want some input from you guys, but i will only do it if i think its a good idea too. [:)]

I sure do. When ive done a little more i will be sure to contact you TJ.

Just to give you an idea of how violent this ride will be, before the lift hill in this tiny little section of track http://nldc.interfix.net/i6372 riders experience:
3.4 g
1.7 lateral g
-1.5 airtime (ejector wahoooooooooooooooooo)

[:D]

Hmmm... creating a combi coaster is an original idea but when i'm starting to think about having a floorless train car running on a track with high laterals. Probably would give a real ouch!

The rides highest point is actually under 200 foot. It reaches 179 foot at the top of the lift, and reaches a max speed of 70mph at the bottom of the drop. So really it doesnt count as a hyper, but a mega.

Anyway after my tea im going to run the next section through the AHG to see if its alright so far. If not then i will be deleteing it all the way back to the top of the lift hill. [:D] If im happy with it, i will post some pics. I have all night to work on it, as im not going out for once. Ooo a friday night without going out [V] Ah well, more nolimits [:D]

Im struggling now. The turn around i made is fine, but its the turn after, its goes up to -2.3 lateral so im going to have to change form that section onwards. And i also feel the loop i made was too big, so that will be a little smaller so you still go over the top at about 35mph.

What you could do with the turn to minimize lats is to bank it more, change to an overbank, or highten the turn to make the speed less.

2 new images of the turn round. Its a little slow at the moment, so i will have to tweak it a little. Im editing the rest of the layout after the lift aswell, as i just dont like it. Im starting to go off this ride, so i may put it in the scrap heap. But i will stick at it for a little while longer, its early days and i always begin to dislike my rides at a certain point. [lol]
