Nano means 1/billionth.

What does one billionth have to do with 1000 songs? Cheesy marketing strategies... ;)

[lol] Well, you have to think of it this way, the GP doesnt really know these fancy terms, but i am sure most have heard of a nano metre. If they went and called it the iPod Pico or iPod Femto, i'm sure everyone would be completly bemused

I'm pretty sure they're not selling minis anymore because this is about the same size (1000 songs)

I have to disagree with the phrase "1000 songs, impossibly small. Ipodnano", I mean do they have any grasp of what the word 'impossible' actually means? [lol] AND 1000 songs isn't so great, I mean, my PSP can hold like 4 songs [lol] which is loads more....obviously.

The nano is replacing the mini line. So now, there is the iPod, iPod U2, iPod Nano, iPod Shuffle. The nano's are so cool though, for so small it's so much packed in. I love mine.

I cant wait to hear people say they lost theirs or sat on it and snapped it in half. I dont see the point in them and I dont regret getting a Creative Zen Touch 20Gb, paid cheaper price, got more features, more capacity, and I didnt have to pay for the iPod name.

I like my ipod suffle it is cool and better then a cd player becuse a cd can'nt hold as much songs and you can play them over and over again without losing the songs. I have to charge my ipod suffle in my old computer becuse it has all of the songs on it and I can add songs to the ipod if I want to it is relly cool. When I got my ipod suffle it was $200.00 and now it is a $100.00 it came down in price so if you want to have mp3 and songs form your cds you should buy the ipod suffle becuse you can add songs from your cds and what music you have downloed form the internet which is relly cool. I am gald that apple computers came out with the ipod suffle and the ipod becuse you can use it on a apple computer or a pc with windows I have an hp computer and I just unplug the ipod form the battey pack and put it in the computer and charge the ipod and put songs on it. The batteys on the ipod suffle can last almost all day long which is better then a cd palyer that the batteryes die relly fast so i think that a ipod suffle is worth the money and a good thing to have on a long car trip or a airplane trip or a train trip or a bus trip I want seat on my ipod suffle becuse there is a string that you put over your neack and you can listen to the music without losing the ipod I can even take it to a football game or just listen to it at home.

i bought a creative zen micro a few months ago for $200, 5GB holding 2,500 songs in WMA format, and has tons of features built in, including a microphone. my sister is getting a nano though, right now she has a 20GB ipod and shes giving it to my mom so she can get the nano, bad decision if you ask me, i dont tihnk nanos are worth $250(or $230 if its from a registered account on the online apple store, includes free engraving for anyone who plans to buy one)

Naturally I just bought my wife a Mini for her birthday, and they go and come out with something better.

Well, maybe I can get her a Nano and claim the Mini for myself [:D]

As for breaking the Nano in half, doesn't look like that's going to be a problem... check the burabillity test near the end of this review

I might buy one soon, some of my friends and I are going to start a lawn mowing service and mow all our neighbors lawns, of course for the right price.
