well since no one answerd my other question heres a new one, What that max banking on this thing?

It looks to be around 90????????? banking on the swooping downward turn.

Voyage? Beech Bend?

Really, my expectations were not too high. Look at the absolute amazing quality of rides since the start of 2000. Its been incredible! Sure, youve got lame rides here and there but really, since 1989 weve seemed to be in another "Golden Age" of coasters.

I really dont think, especially from Intamin who has my favourite steel coasters vote, that I expected too much. I just think as someone else put, they put too tall a woodie in too little space.

It will do what its aimed to do which is give a quick and intense ride with Im sure loads and loads of airtime and some nice twists but it really could have used more room to make it feel more complete.



I just dont think this is one of the "OMG" coasters of this coming year. Frankly, if it werent for the Beech Bend woodie being opened up in an obscure place, I could see this ride being raved about early, then dieing off in the limelight. Reguardless, I do agree coasters have only gotten better and crazier as I said, almost like a 2nd Golden Age. I just think this ride got sold short.

Obviously the people GP of SFGAdv wanted more so Six Flags took the initiative (however you spell that word) and went with something larger scale to attract the GP again. Its very good advertisement to say we've got the largest steel, and the second largest wooden coaster in the world! Although not the best, they deliver a thrill that in most cases (as long as lines aren't rediculous) will satisfy the GP. That and Medusa just looks so much better than SFMM's parking lot scream!(Random, I know, but it looks a lot better)

Yea, Im not even touching the GP aspect because they will eat it up. Especially since its a Intamin woodie EVERYONE will come off with the "WTH? Thats too smooth! Rock on!" attitude which will definatly drive customers back.


But, we all know parks can keep up woodies with the right care. Hence why I planned on going back to HW long before Voyage was even announced or made mention too.

You do have to give SF props... They are trying to turn themselves around... two major themed areas in that same amount of years... plus an all new children's area... Even though the coaster is not the best, it is still pretty cool... Now that they have put in this new ride and the new sections, i am going to definately make the trip up there... SO those of you with major beef with SF... remember what the park and the company used to be...

WOW, looks pretty good. It looks like it will have some awesome airtime, but no real good lats. But actually them quick transitions in that really twisted section probably have alot of lateral force. Maybe. [:D]

^There's a very small chance of that with Intamin I'm sure. But you might get some seat sliding during the s-curve transition

Based on the picture, this thing need a wider support structure for better head choppers.

^Yah, I was wondering how this thing will be stable. In the rederings, it looks like the wide supports really aren't that wide.

i don't think they need wide supports on the hills, there only vertical G's, and perhaps the have a good structure that devides the weight more

What happens if a wind comes up that is blowing perpendicular to the hills?

it'll go through the structure, it ain't solid..

^^^Well, even if it does go through the structure, all that wood will still resist the air blowing at it.

Yes, but there wouldn't be enough resistance to blow it down. It would have to be really, really thick to acomplish that.

just look at one of US's major bridges, they have open sides too...
