Drakulya is my latest project - a Gestlauer Eurofighter. It includes the traditional past 90 degree drop, and it also includes 2 inversions, the conventional loop and heartline roll. I have gone with these conventional elements because i am trying to make this a typical Eurofighter rather than some uber original design. I want it to be pretty gestlauer like.

I have not only taken inspiration from the existing Eurofighters (Vild Svinet, Typhoon, and Speed) but also inspiration from Mystery Mine (new for 2007 at Dollywood) and also ideas from Gestlauer bobsled coasters such as Hei?????????e Fahrt at Wild- und Freizeitpark Klotten.

Anyway, heres some statistics of Drakulya at this point in time. Stats may change, as trackwork is not 100% complete:
Name: Drakulya
Ride Type: Gestlauer Eurofighter
Max Height: 122 foot
Max Speed: 57mph
Total length: 3696.90 foot
Steepest drop: 97 degrees
Number of inversions: 2
Max number of cars on circuit: 9
Max Capacity: 1296 people per hour
Designer: Jpecool

UPDATE - (02/08/2006)

Track added to NLDC with description and statistics. 14 images added. 2 showing the ride design in the editor from the front and side. 2 showing detail on the cartexture. 10 showing various parts of the ride at this stage, with trackwork 90% done.

Anyone got any comments? Ideas? Suggestions? I really like this ride so far. Ive made it a little tamer than some of my other rides (prototype, lucifer, Black Mariah) but its still pretty cool i think. My favourite part is when the ride is givingyou a little breather after the heartline roll. It goes along a small straight, and suddenly plummets 70 foot at 75 degrees giving -1.2 ejector airtime. That part is inspired by Mystery mine, if you watch the animation closely, the ride does something similar.

Im hoping to theme this ride pretty extensively. Its hopefully going to be themed like a haunted castle type thing. Dracula's castle in fact. Drakulya is just another version of the word Dracula, just translated slightly differently. It was given as a name to Vlad Tepes, the Impaler, or, Prince Dracole....[:)] Anyway.....

Comments?

Looks nice, quite original even though it just uses conventional Eurofighter elements.

Just out of curiosity, why did you abandon Sirocco? I was really looking forward to that one.

^Same here. I thought that could easily be your best coaster. The theming was amazing, and very..Italian? Anyway, maybe I'll take a look at it. Is it in the scrapyard?

I should be alright doing 3ds and supports, but i will always need opinions on what ive done, like testers, not only for the track itself, but for looking at the 3ds in detail and finding any faults, likes, and dislikes. Im planning on putting the prelift inside the castle, underneath the station, and the lift hill will be inside the highest turret of the castle, with the drop coming out a window at the top and falling down the side of the building into another part of the castle. The rest of the ride is hopefully going to follow the castle walls, ducking in and out of them. Thats IF i can pull it off. I really need some better 3ds software, like 3ds max! [V]

EDIT: No way am i putting it in the scrapyard. [lol] Sirocco is definately my best coaster IMO! Ive just abandoned it because it is so much work, and i cant do it until i get a better computer, because my graphics card cant handle the objects. All the objects are seperate from each other, and all my textures were really high quality. I also dont have the skills yet to pull off the environment how i want to, so i will be using this track to improve my environment skills. So i havent really abandoned it, its just on hold, for a very long time (past christmas), and ive put abandoned, so i dont get annoying people off other websites emailing me asking when im starting work on it again! [lol] One thing that also put me off Sirocco was having to trim the last wing over to make it safe. Anyway, i will be piciking it up again, because i love that helix [lol]

Glad to hear it's not completely dead, I don't mind waiting a while if it means the theming is going to be even better than it already is.

Im 16 on saturday and im trying to get a decent paying job at the moment and its my GCSE results on the 24th. Hopefully i will get some money soon, and im putting it aside to buy a laptop, and i should have a job in the next month. Then at christmas i should get some money, and i can put it towards that, and im gonna sell a load of stuff on ebay aswell [:D] This means by about february i should have a good amount of money to get a decent laptop, and then i can continue working on Sirocco and i can actually see it working, rather than just see it jumping around the track [V]

Ragan, i know OC is good, but its difficult to build really detailed objects on. To do that i use anim8or, but it always messes up.

Anyway, any comments on Drakulya, rather than Sirocco? [lol]

well it depends how often you use it to decide how difficult it is. jackfrahn has been able to model this: http://www.nolimitsdevcenter.net/i15468

ive had the chance to see this ride, and its 3ds rival thunderhead falls in terms of texturing and crisp percision and nice looking.

It seems im obsessed with European type themeing at the moment. First with Sirocco which was a blend of Mediterranean themeing. Now with Drakulya which is very Eastern Europe: In particular, Romania (Dracula, obviously). Ive decided im basing the castle on Bran Castle:

Now ive just got to go texture hunting [:D] Or picture hunting which i can make textures out of. [:)]

UPDATE - (03/08/2006)

1 picture added showing the start of 3ds work. I have started working on the tower that will surround the lift hill, and ive collected, edited, and made quite a few textures in the last day that i think i may need. The picture shows just the start of one side of the tower, with the textures i will be using.
-----------------------------------

I started 3ds. YAY. They are going alright so far, but this is going to be the most time consuming 3ds work ive ever done. Anyway i hope you like the textures. Some are a litte weird, for example, the roof texture, started off as a paving texture i found. I turned it on its side, resized it, dyed it orange rather than grey, and increased the saturation and i think it looks pretty good. [:)] You may not like it, but i do. [:D][lol]

The roof looks alright, although you might be able to find a better texture in the photorealistic pack, there's couuple of roof textures there that might work a little better. They look slightly older and more worn. But hey, the one you've already got is fine too, if you don't want to change it.

It looks cool. I think the ride itself maybe look a bit too long. Especially compared to some of the current eurofighters (not sure about mystery mine[;)]) Anyways the theming sound awesome!
