One word...dissapointing!

I went yesterday with Rachael to Drayton Manor and I can honestly say I was dissapointed. The park for a Saturday was almost empty, hardly even a quarter full....the park was pretty much empty all morning but however, the queues for the big rides (excluding Apocalypse) was simply horrific. The queue line for Shockwave was pushing 45 mins, G-Force an hour and Storm Force 10 and hour. To re-illiterate, the queues were short, but I have never seen them move so slow. All the rollercoasters were running a one train operation and was just painfully slow. I couldn't help but stand in the station for Shockwave getting more and more pissed off seeing one train dispatch, completing it's circuit before the whole process again. G-force still only has one train which is just a joke. The ride isn't that good to be honest but the fact that you get 12 people on the ride every 2 minutes is just an embarresment on the behalf of the park. However Apocalypse was still as awesome as ever and made the trip worth the while...even if we did break down the first time and get stuck a quarter on the way up the tower hanging by my nuts. There really was no other excitements of the day, just a dissapointing day out with ridiculous queues that ruined the day for me

sorry dude, you can blame me if you want even tought i dont start on the rides untill october when the season is closed. i promioce next year it will be better. the reason that all the coasters are only running 1 train is because of the shortfall of enginieers, thats why im n ow employed there as they are starting to bump up the staff more. i agree the ques are rediculess but the 2nd train for gforse is arriving in november along with the upgrades for the current train and shockwave will also be reciving upgrades to the dispach system and both trains. on top of that apocolypse will be getting a spanky new paint job and the new ride will be open. shame you had a dissapointing day mate but at the moment drayton is going throught a bad patch that will be repaired over the next 2 years.

[lol] Don't get me wrong, I still like the park. It's small and everything is close, just going on shockwave first really put me in a bad mood [lol] Apocalypse is still amazing and never has a queue and the Drunken Barrels were intresting to say the least. At one point in the queue for Shockwave I did actualy turn around and say to Rachael 'If I see Gazag I am getting him to put two trains on or else he is banned!' [lol] It's good to hear about the improvements and I'll definatly be back next year

FFS didn't they get some award for being one of or the best tourist attraction last year?
I think it sucks how they think its ok to let the place run down, surely they should be acting a bit sooner to protect their reputation?

I've always liked the place and to be fair I hada great day late season last year when it was near empty marred only by stormforce in hibernation and a guy drinking pepsi whilst checking restraints on the haunting which kinda spoilt the experiance a tad. Walk-on Apocolypse always good though and their rapids are the best around.

wheres the G-Force on G-Force![confused]

they got an award for being the best tourist attraction in the midlands and as the only official theme park in the midlands its very easy to get it. all the awards go on is visiters. i agree its about time they did somthing for there rep and over the close season all of us enginieers are going to be very busy especialy on the pirate adventure. im gonna keep whats hapening in the a big surprise cuz its somthing new. not the whole thing is being done out but somthing is happening. the haunting has always been a rubbish ride but since they added the vampire theming its got worse. the bats in the middle of the end of the ride are without a dought the funnyist thing i have seen in a long time. there are going to be alot of upgrading, painting and genral tiding and fixing arround the park in this close season and ive been told aroung christmas somthing very special is going to be coming to the park. i have been told i can say somthings coming to the park as long as i dont say what cuz if i do i could lose my job. this means we will be working 14 hour days foe 3 weeks over christmas. i will be reporting on this in the future but for now im keeping my mouth shut.

I'm hoping the video isn't posted :|

Also! I love the new Drunken Barrels ride, even though it made me ill it goes so fast, amazing yay :D

Isnt Alton Towers classed as a Midland theme park??? So i havnt got a clue how it won the award. But really, i have never been drawn to Drayton Manor, and im not too fussed about going anyway.
Ive been on Drop-Towers and stand ups before, and G-Force looks really crap.
Storm Force 10 is getting really rust as well as Maelstorm. And thats a shame because Intamin Gyro's pack a huge punch.
I cant wait for things to get touched up in October, and i expect gaz that you will be a very busy man.
Sorry it didnt go to well for you guys.
