lol the brainless teans who are easily knocked over and blown away by pretty awards and advertising lol. The only thing that CP has over six flags is CP is more of a family park IMO. It gets the better votes from families who take their yearly trips up there....and believe me, thats alot of families lol

Well I've never been to CP, but in terms of coasters, I'd say overall SFMM has better ones, even if they're under maintenance half the time. Goliath pwns!1111
Both need work, neither is perfect, they're both not the best parks either imo...although SFMM is at the top of my visited parks list. I must say, when I went, I wasn't all that impressed. The rides were absolutely awesome, but overall it didn't have a nice attractive appearance (not themeing), but it needs to become mroe of a "fun" park...i guess...

^Nice rant there Real.

What the hell does rant mean?[lol]
But from everyone I've talked to who have been to this place, Holiday World is the best. Some of the best woodies in the world (and possibly getting the best one in the world) and they are well maintained. On top of that, I heard you get free soda! I mean, how great is that? A small park gives out free soda, while a large chain park charges you $3.00 for something you'll finish in 30 seconds. (or at least I do, anyways.)

Yup, all the soda you can drink you just cant abuse it.

IE Sitting there drinking a hundred cups in a row. Just drink your cup, or cups, then go to another stand.

Cedar Point seems like you could fill a couple of days worth there and only have a couple of re-rides on some of your favorite rides, where as Six Flags, depending on how crowded the day is, you can basically go on everything you want to once about 1 or 2ish in the afternoon if you get there at opening, and that leaves the rest of the day for multiple re-rides on your favorite rides. And and most of the park doesn't have much of an atmoshpere except Samuri Summit, The Riddler's Revenge Backlot, and Gothom City Backlot (basically most of the stuff that was built when Time Warner was in charge of the chain) where as Cedar Point looks like it has a pretty good enviornment, and they look like they try to make things look nice, in stead of just ok. That and Cedar Point has a whole lot more to do than just coasters, and they have stuff that appeals to everyone, even the people who don't really like roller coasters, or flat rides.

i have personally been to both parks, most people who have replied in this thread have not. with that being.....

cedar point has many pros, and cons. one thing that i truely enjoy about cedar point is that at CP, the park is clean, the rides are not dirty, and they hands down have one of the best staff members in the world. from the 7 days i have been there, the people were extremely friendly to me, and i enjoyed the place alot. food does not seem over priced, parking does a bit, but, every place that charges more than 5 bucks seems rediculous. smoking to me at cp was not a problem. my dad is a smoker, and i guess im used to it. but i really didnt mind having a kid next to me light it up.
i really did not like the fast pass thing when i was the one waiting in line, but when i was in the fast pass lane, i loved it :) thats a nice feature, its a shame they are taking it away. the midways at CP seem really nice. open air, sun, coasters all around, and they have the back half of the park that is shady and like an oasis. great place to go if your tired. the rides are really reliable, and the wait on the rides are not overly insane, on mantis and raptor though, those waits can get long during the day. more than TTD and MF at times.

SFMM has alot of nagitive things said about the park, some are true, some are not. one thing i really liked was the variety of rides in the park. 4d, invert, wood, floorless, standup, launch, one thing that pissed me off alot was that the wait on the rides were FOREVER! and deja vu and ninja were down all day that i was there. that was a bummer. the wait for phyclone was insane also, one car running, that is not exceptable. thugs and smoking does reach my breaking point at SFMM though. i was scared at some points when i was there. gangs in the bathrooms, LA thugs that are 12 but act like 25 and dress like whores scared me actually. when i got my season pass their, that was a hassel i did not like. i had to go by flashback (also not working) and stand inline for around 30 minutes before i got my pass. it was spelled wrong, and i even filled out a bubble cheat that they didnt look at. how stupid could they be? LOL. when all of SFMM coasters are running, SFMM has a wider, and better variety of coasters compared to CP. the shame in that is, out of 16 coasters, 14 real ones, only 10 of them are running, and most if not all of them are under running trains.

now i will break down individual coasters at SFMM and CP. then extra things like dinners, hotels, guest interaction, etc.

Millennium Force vs. goliath

MF has speed, height, and one of the best layouts i think i have ever seen. hands down deserves to be ranked number one in the world. one of the most complete coasters i think i have ever seen. golaith has an original layout too, and that turn thing over colossus is great. very fun, fast paced ride, one thing that i hated about that ride, is that the fact that i blacked out on the 540, first time that has ever happened to me on any ride, winner, millennium force.

raptor vs. batman

raptor is original, and more fast and fun than batman, easy winner, raptor.

mantis vs. riddler's revenge.

mantis' layout and uniqueness of elements at the time it was built was passed by no one. the tight section of mantis is awesome. that is my favorite part of that ride. but, RR has a couple more things going for them. one, themeing, the enviornment you are put in in the queue and on the ride is insane. it is also intenser and faster, which equals better in this case. winner, riddler's revenge.

magnum xl-200 vs. viper.

magnum has the airtime and the airtime going for them. viper has inversions and a some-what-smoother-than-normal track than other arrows. didnt really hurt my head like i expected to do. while both are fun and intense, i believe that magnum has slightly more fun while riding it, being next to lake eire might have some to do with that, but i find magnum to be more fun than viper, though i think you could argue anyway on this. so, i will have to say tie.

top thrill dragster vs. superman: the escape

this decision actually has to require some thought. while ttd has speed and intensity and the 270 going for it, superman has those 7 seconds of weightlessness. ive ridden ttd once, and superman 4 times, and i believe that superman is a better ride than ttd, weightlessness is hard to beat, so winner, superman.

gemini vs. colossus

yes, i know one is wood, and one is steel, but both are dualers. while gemini is smooth, funner, headchoppered, and has alot of interaction with the other train, it is a better coaster than colossus, hands down. but, colossus has one thing going for them, it scared the poop out of me! i seriously felt that i was going to die on the ride. it seemed to me that the train was going to fall off the tracks and plummit 100 feet down on concrete. so its a toss up, its a tie.

wicked twister vs. deja vu

wicked twister is a non-stop thrill ride from the first launch, till the slow down. really great ride. not as good as v2 imo, but still, its a great coaster. deja vu isnt really that great. though it was fast and fun, i didnt like it all that much. it seemed like it was a showoff put out ride. isnt that fun for me, those restraints were too wierd, i think that has some thought into my decision as well. winner, wicked twister.

mean streak vs. psyclone

mean streak is tall, bad, and mean. head chooper galore. and is one of the biggest woodies i think i have been on, except for SoB, but that is a POS, that doesnt count. lol. i really enjoy the pacing of ms, and for its age, its not that rough. psyclone on the other hand is rough as hell. i didnt like how rough it was to me. though i believe it has a better layout compared to mean streak, it just isnt smooth. the flybys the station is fun, and really adds a bit to the ride. but unfortunally, mean streak imho is a better coaster than psyclone in the condition both of them are in now. winner, mean streak.

iron dragon vs. ninja

iron dragon imo isnt the great of a coaster, by itself. but the scenary that it is put in adds alot to the ride. the water flyby helix thing, that is great, one of my favorite places in the park to sit by and watch. on ninja, from a pov that i saw, is ALOT better than iron dragon. being in the woods and using the mountain base for it is great. all coasters should do that imho. using its terrain is a great thing that a coaster could do. winner, ninja.

blue streak vs. revolution

blue streak is one of the best old time woodies ive ever been on. very solid woodie considering it was built 40 years ago. nice airtime on it too. on revolution, it isnt really that great of a ride. besides the loop, which isnt the best part of the ride, it wouldnt be that impressive of a ride. its sorta rough, but it isnt as smooth as it could be. winner, blue streak.

cedar creek mine ride vs. gold rusher

on ccmr, its one of the most perfect rides for kids in the park. really great ride, and its not too tall, or too fast, but still has some intensity to it. one of my most favorite kiddie rides ever. rusher isnt that great of a ride, fun for kids, yes, but after once it isnt that appealing anymore. nice use of terrain though by SFMM and the makers of the ride. winner, cedar creek mine ride.

even though on those 11 head-to-head matchups i listed, and the fact that CP "Beat" SFMM 6-3-2, i still believe that SFMM has a better selection of coasters. with x, scream and tatsu ready to get ridden in april, SFMM clearly has more top-notch coasters than Cedar point. x is insane, and scream is one of the better floorless coasters out there. tatsu seems like it will be the best flyer on the market too. coaster wise, if everythig is running smooth, which isnt going to happen most likely, six flags magic mountain is the better place to go to if you are looking for the best selection of roller coasters in the world.

now i will talk about the different guest relations and cleanliness and other things that you'd find at both parks.

food, cp seems to have better park food, but the restraunt that i ate in inside the park, had some of the best food i had had in a long time. it wasnt overly overpriced either. that shocked me, winner, sfmm.

guest relations, cp, hands down, theyll bend-over backwards for a customer, while sfmm doesnt really give a crap about you, winner, cedar point.

parking, cedar point has better parking spaces, and has a cheaper price than sfmm, i enjoy cp parking a whole lot more than sfmm, winner, cedar point.

reliability, cedar point clear cut winner. not questions here, sfmm has to be one of the most unreliable parks in the history of mankind. winner, cedar point.

ride, not coaster, selection. with the new addition at cedar point, maxair and the new thing, those made it so that cp has better rides than sfmm. i dont remember actually seeing anything but a coaster at sfmm, that is about all six flags magic mountain has, winner, cedar point.

cleanliness, cp in some places is cleanier, in others sfmm is cleanier. it really depends when and where in the park you are at if you are judging this, tie.

line jumpers, while i admit i have seen a bit at cedar point, at six flags magic mountain it is rediclous, mexican kids run around every where, and when i told one of them that i was here first, they looked at me and ran to the station. i see many thugs let their friends threw too. its rediculous how many people do it at sfmm. i even had to pass some people their to get some stuff out of my locker, no one gave a crap, because they were used to it i guess. cedar point is clearly the winner in this category.

ticket prices, at six flags magic mountain, a single day ticket is 50 dollars, while at cedar point it is 40 dollars. clearly cedar point would be better, right? wrong, my season pass to sfmm cost 50 bucks, and i could get into any sf park in the world with it. that is awesome, and well worth the money. cedar point's is too much, and whenever i go there, i buy a pass at wof, and use that pass their. saves alot of money. winner, sfmm.

so, overall, going by my system, cedar point 'beats' six flags magic mountain by a score of 11-5-3. but, remember that i tatsu, x, and scream did not go against any coaster at cedar point, so that really could be consider a win. 11-8-3 win by cedar point still isnt that bad. overall, i believe that cedar point is clearly a better park to go to. but, if you are looking just for coasters, i would suggest going to six flags magic mountain.

It doesent matter how you look at it, Superman doesent beat TTD. Superman is sooo boring and the wieghtlessness isnt special at all. TTD's launch is exactly TWICE the power.

I'd say it all just depends on what you're looking for. If you want the more enjoyable experience for a family of 4 or a group made up of people who dont only want to ride roller coasters, I'd say CP is the winner. However, If what you want is just better roller coasters and shorter lines (on average), SFMM wins hands down. Even vefore Tatsu SFMM had a way better variety of coasters, and after its addition there truly will be no contest when it comes to the coasters alone IMO. However I must agree with ragan, one downside to SFMM is all the linejumpers etc., its still an enjoyable park though nonetheless.

its more like 0 - 60 in 10 seconds now, all it has going for it is its weightlessness at the top, which is fun, but you know, there should still be a kick at the launch, instead of no kick at all.
Also, I think Deja Vu` is one of my favorite rides at SFMM so between that and Wicked Twister, I would probably say Deja Vu, seein as how ragan though v2 was better than twister, and I've been on v2, and i liked Deja Vu better. But then again, I never had to wait in any line for it.[approve]

i like v2 more than wt slightly because of the back section of the track, that holding break thing, i love that. only reason why i prefer it more than wt.

The two times i went to magic mountain there was no waits. Here are the wait times from a weekday on spring break:

Viper- 15
Deja Vu- 5
Psyclone - walk on
Ninja - walk on
Superman - 5
Riddler - 10
Batman - walk on
Scream - 5
Collosus - 10
Goliath - walk on
X - 45

So i guess it depends on when you go. I really liked MM though! Can;t say anything for CP unfortunetly!

SFMM has trees...CP has concrete..hmm

If SFMM keeps improving the way it has been, I would gladly vote for SFMM.

It looks as the new managements is trying to clean the parks up. On TPR's update they showed markers around messed up concrete. Ragan, i can't recall which day, but it was March 24th or April 4th. I also went on June 2, but X was closed. Missed school that day!

SFMM has potential to be the best park for enthusiests, but I don't think there is any way they can cath up to being the best park overal.
