I agree, it looks like a pretty mediocre invert to me (at best).

Coaster @ Playland.

It never really was "known" though. Very few enthusiasts acknowledge how much furiosity this coaster has, and how brutal the airtime that is delivered on the ride is.

I haven't ridden every coaster in the world of course, so I wouldn't be able to confirm this, but I believe it has the most powerful airtime of any coaster on the planet, wood or steel, by a longshot. I have ridden quite a few rides that are well known for airtime, and their airtime is pale in comparison to Coaster's. I'm surprised its still even operating today.

Airtime just can't get any more powerful, the airtime on it probably ranked right up here with the most insane coasters ever built, from the '20s to '40s. I don't think anything went past the point of bruising your thighs after just a couple rides like Coaster does.

YES!! I havn't taken a spin on Coaster yet, but I have been dying to for a good few years now! It looks like such an awesome coaster, I just wish it wasn't on the other side of the country from me! [:(!]

I think another forgotten coaster is the Comet at Great Escape. It was saved from Crystal Beach where the mighty Harry Travor Cyclone once stood.

Another ride is Avalanche. It isn't really forgotten, but it has been greatly overlooked in my opinion from the nearby Hades overlooking it.
Many people who have ridden it have said that it is more thrilling, exciting and more fun than Hades delivering insane airtime in every seat.

Cyclone at Williams Grove could qualify as another forgotten ride. It is one of the scariest rides out there, yet no one talks about it anymore, unless they have just ridden it which changes everything!
When riding this coaster you are staring fear head on[:D]

The list of forgotten or coasters that arn't well known but that are great rides is very long...there are just so manyout there. It is sad actually, because alot of these rides are never given the credit they deserve and in some cases like the Cyclone at Williams Grove, they are threatened to be closed and maybe even torn down. And of course because hardly anyone talks about them anymore, no efferts are made to even attempt to save them.[:(]

What is the coaster you would most like to see come back from being forgotten and become very popular.

For me its Orchi at Expoland i feel that that coaster is extremly underrated when the coaster gives a fantastic ride...!!!

From the credible reports, its built like a giant BTR. And no, the forces are not gone. It has some oddly shaped loops that is rips through and alot of powerful G's. You can tell just by looking at it that its old school B&M.

I think Alvey has it in the top intensity category of Inverts he has ridden (which I think it almost all of them barring a few crazy ones like the one in Kuwait or wherever)

I'm sure it does have intense parts, but I doubt the whole ride as a whole is as intense as BTR. Theres just too many drawn out turns and elements in the ride that look to be almost boring, such as the lead in to the helix, the drop out of the MCBR (the MCBR isn't necessary either), the wingover than makes you question whether or not B&M designed it, and everything after that. It looks like it starts great but dies halfway through.

BTR also isn't the most intense invert IMO, Top Gun @ PGA really has ridiculous forces that beat BTR by a seemingly large margin. The ascending helix after the loop (which is more circular than every other B&M loop I've seen) made me black out a bit which has not happened on any other B&M. I'd say BTR is more enjoyable, just not as powerful as Top Gun.

Ahhh... FN, I completely forgot the Comet. That thing just looks absolutely sick, those bunnyhills must be insane. Hopefully SF doesn't completely destroy it before I get a chance to ride. That's one of my favorite old time woodies, that I have yet to ride.

The Great Escape Comet is an excellent ride. The first 2 or 3 hills have absolutely no airtime, but then its a constant airtime fest until you hit the brakes. My favorite parts of the ride are the small turning hills, you get thrown out of your seat and then while your in the air the train rips you down while you're pinned to the side of the train. Good stuff.

IF, man, you are dating me. I rode that Comet several times and still to this date have not come across one that provided that much laughter for my Dad and I.

Jack Rabbit @ Seabreeze. I know I may be a Seabreeze fanboy, but this coaster needs to be known! It is a very classic ride, and it is the fourth oldest coaster still standing. IT is pretty smooth, very short lines, and gets the most classic woodie award from me.
