I've been slowly working and thinking about this ride for a long time now and it is finally starting to take shape. The track sat in the form of a lift hill for about a month before I came up with a general layout and what I wanted the coaster to do.
My main goal with this coaster is to build a twisting GCI woodie with little or no straight track or sections, other than the lift, brakes and station of course.
I also wanted this to have some nice pops of airtime like what Thunderhead has. So far I have been able to stick to my goals with 2100 feet of track built so far.

I'm about 55-60% done with the trackwork. So I still have the second half of the ride to build along with all the banking, supports, terrain and extra 3ds stuff (speaking of which, I am in need of someone who has experience doing 3ds terrain and tunnels and such as there is a nice tunnel on this).

I don't think it will be too much like Thunderhead, other than the fact that this thing will have pops of airtime all over it.
I also doubt that there will be a station fly-through, with the layout I have in mind that would require a dull turn and flat spot before it. However, I do plan on making some track go very close to the stations and around the lift hill. [:D]

[lol] I was just banking part of the track I had just built to make sure the g's stayed within reason and when I was removing the banking I forgot to remove banking from one vertex.

The drop will look better once it is banked properly.

I gotta say that banking spike thing is pretty impossible lookin. if you make it a little longer itd work. otherwise it looks good.

Do you use elementary or do you hand build?

Looks very good to me, seems like it has good aitime and lats, and has a good layout so far.

oh lol sorry about that. it'd be kinda cool tho...I love "improper" bankings

and I hope he's not using the elementary. I mean for little things like simple turns its useful but to make a whole ride out of it just seems to take away the purpose of the editor.

I dont see how it takes away from the editor. You can adjust terrain in the editor but does using the terraformer take away from doing it in the editor?

Outside tools have always done what the editor could do, just with more detail.

Yes, I am building this completly with elementary. I wouldn't say that it takes away at all from the editor.
I still use most of the features, supports, banking etc to create my track, the only thing I don't do at all is place or move the vertices. Even when building a steel coaster with elementary and other tools after sending it through the AHG and whatnot, the track will ussually still need some fine tuning.

It's just the angle of view, it isn't that steep if you look at it from the side.
