acctully i think i can explain for you . . . On SROS at six flags america once it gets so fast the ride starts to shake up and down and its kinda painful. So being launched at 128 would shake like crazy

The roughest flatride would have to be this one: http://huvipuistogalleria.com/gagarinpa ... /index.php

But coasters are bit harder. The roughest must be Magnus Colossus in Terra Mitica, it's worse than The Ultimate or Goudurix. Smoothest... maybe Pinfari Big Apple?

I've been on lots of smooth and lots of rough wooden coasters. For the most part, any NEW wooden coaster is smooth. It's hard to determine which is the smoothest - Boulderdash and Knoebels Twister are smooth and well-maintained. But neither is that old yet. Looking at older woodies that have run long enough to require maintenance, I'll give a nod for smoothest to any woodie at Kennywood. They've all been taken care of.

[8D]For roughest, same story - but if I look at it in terms of which coaster I think is not even enjoyable because of roughness, I'll say Son of Beast.

For steel:
the smoothest - SROS, SFNE
roughest - Viper, Great Adventue [^][^]

Water
[:D]Smooth: TMLR at Knott's
[xx(]Rough: Jet Stream @ SFMM (IMO stragnest "log" ride ever)

Wood:
[:D]Smooth: Roar @ SFMW and occasionally GhostRider @ KBF
[xx(]Rough: Grizzly @ PGA

Steel:
[:D]Smooth: TIE: V2 (SFMW), Xcelerator (KBF)
[xx(]Rough: TIE - Desperado(Buffalo Bill's), Manhurtin' Express (Las Vegas), Boomerang (KBF, SFMW), X (SFMM), and Viper (SFMM)

Obviosuly I am undecided in that last category...

Smoothest: MF all the way, Batman Knight Flight (now Devestator) at Geauga Lake.

Roughest: sry GL, I love X-Flight but Serial Thriller(thunderhawk), Double Loop and Raging wolf Bobs are the only coasters I have ever regreted going on. For the record, Raging wolf Bobs was much more acceptable when it still had it's origional PTC trains IMO.

Well, my smoothest has to be Rock'n'Rollercoaster at Paris. I've ridden Silverstar, which was smoother but rattled a lot on the first drop, so that ride drops out... EGF seemed to have a constant very slight vibration feeling to me, which is good. Colossos was very very smooth in another way... wooden way [^]

Roughest was definitely Eurosat at Europa Park. Although it's not a fast or forceful ride, it jerked around as if it was going a 100mph...

Smoothest Wooden Coast I've Been on: Big Dipper at San Diego. (It had just recently been retracked when I went on it, or so the ops said...)

Roughest Wood: Psyclone. It phurts.

Smoothest Steel Coaster - Probably Xcelerator. I've never really had any "shuffling" on it, and I've had way more smooth rides on it then SB. I guess the intamin trains just hold up better for longer then what the B&M's do.
Roughest Steel: I've never really been on a "ruff" steel roller coaster, but I've been on togo's which aren't reall ruff so to say, but poorly designed, so the lats slam you into the restraints, ect. But if that counts as ruffness, then I guess the ruffest for me would be Manhattan Express. If poor designing and not really track ruffness is not the same in your book, then the Mattarhorn would be the ruffest in my book. But at least thats a fun ride.[:)]
